*TalkHub - an initiative that provides Talk Therapy and related research based approach to enhance mental health and psychological wellbeing of people.*
*Talk Therapy* is the emotional medicine that helps to *heal emotional wounds, builds/maintain resourceful relationships and produces happiness & a fulfilled life.
*Mental health problems are very common in our community, but they are grossly misunderstood which has led to the general stigmatization and discrimination.
*Issues about mental health are so rampant that even if you don’t have one, you are likely in contact with people/someone who is affected.
*If you think mental health issues are limited to the "Mad People" you see on the road or at Aro, you have just scored less than 10%...they are the least population of mental health issues...Let us examine some definition...
*Mental health is defined as a state of well-being in which every individual realizes his or her own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to her or his community.*
*It means you have Mental Health issues if:
-you are not working towards realising your potential
- you are not coping with stress of life
- you are not productive at work or school
- you are not creating social connection & contributing to your community

*Mental Health* is the psychological state of someone who is functioning at a satisfactory level of emotional and behavioural adjustment
Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices.
According to the U.K. surgeon general (1999), *mental health* is the successful performance of mental function, resulting in productive activities, fulfilling relationships with other people, and providing the ability to adapt to change and cope with adversity...& conditions characterized by alterations in thinking, mood, or behavior associated with distress or impaired functioning.
Many people have mental health concerns from time to time. But a mental health concern becomes a mental illness when ongoing signs and symptoms cause frequent stress and affect your ability to function.
In most cases, symptoms can be managed with a combination of medications and ```talk therapy.```
*Untreated mental illness can cause severe emotional, behavioral and physical health problems.*

The same way you don't leave physical wounds unattended (at least you get first aid) *why do we leave emotional wounds unattended to? Because they are invisible?* This is the more reason we should pay attention to emotional wounds and go for *Talk Therapy
Talk Therapy provides an opportunity to learn skills that will keep the emotional "trash can" empty and help develop healthy individuals who go through it. *Healthy emotions stimulate the human fuelling system,promoting positive growth, strength to create solutions and to manage life challenges.*

Talk Therapy is a form of preventive medicine that can be used even when their seems to be no impending mental health issues, as it will helps to maintain a healthy emotional system which is as important to life as sustaining a healthy heart.
Talk therapy can help all sorts of people in lots of different situation. *Anyone who's going through a bad time or has emotional problems they can't sort out on their own can benefit immensely from Talk Therapy.*

Going through *Talk Therapy* is often the first and usually one of the best weapons we have against a whole range of psychological issues like depression, grief, anxiety, etc. You could be doing everything right, leading a model life, exercising and getting all the nutrients you need in your diet, but nothing can quite replace the benefits you get from real human interaction – it’s a genuinely unique source of support.
