RE- NTA Refuses to Broadcast Atiku’s AUN Founder’s Day

The Nigerian Television Authority has stated that it could not broadcast the 13th anniversary of the American University of Nigeria (AUN) because of technical issues. The NTA had been paid to broadcast the event live.

The Atiku Media Office had earlier said that the Presidency instructed the NTA not to broadcast the event. AUN is owned by Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who is the PDP presidential candidate for the 2019 election.

The NTA said that it had mobilised its outside broadcast (OB) crew from Jos to Yola to broadcast the event. The OB crew got to the venue on time and carried out uplink and downlink tests which showed that everything was in good working order. However, 3 hours before the start of the event, the domestic satellite station (DOMSAT) at NTA headquarters called to say that they were not receiving signals from Yola. The OB crew at Yola were sending out signals, but the signals were not being received by NTA's DOMSAT station in Abuja.

NTA investigation showed that the fault was from the NTA’s satellite service provider, INTELSAT. A report of the problem has been sent to INTELSAT.

It should be noted that the NTA transmitted the AUN event after the problem was overcome.

Some times i just wonder what Apc govt will tell us dis time. They know they've failed in their promises and there's almost no visible achievement so far despite promising that d change will come quick. My mind is telling me that d only weapon they wil use is to counter any of Atikus point and distract us til election day. Den thay wil do d normal tin(Rigging). I sincerely dont know what to think of. Traveling presido, sick, fulani headsmen, animal swallowing money nd sending our number 1 packing out of office for months, boko guys stil doing their magic, gandollar, oshodollar, Biafra, el- zaguy, kaduna crises Etc. Den Dr Lie Moha wil cum nd tell us dat all dis things are happening in Ghana. Na wa o.

Good response from NTA. But When will the audio quality of NTA be clean. Though we must acknowledge that the video quality has improved, however, a lot has to be be done to improve the audio as well, to eliminate the annoying humming and glitching background noise. This is 2018 maaan...

All these guys up there bad-mouthing NTA. Did you know that NTA is in business and cannot afford to lose the money paid for that Broadcast?

Why do you people think they will collect the money and refuse to air?

The order not to broadcast the event can only come from government (their paymaster)

I believe their reason 100% since they eventually broadcast a part of the event.

Don't blame them.
NTA like Voice of Nigeria, Radio Nigeria, NAFDAC, Police, army etc is one of the those government establishments that are poorly funded, staff not retrained, work equipment not maintained.

Can you imagine staff contributing a part of their meagre salary to repair their broadcast equipment?

Work not done. Agreement breached. Money return in full. Alternatively it could be used when Atiku kick starts his campaign.

Their antiquated equipment is similar to the antiquated broadcasters. Please note that Ben Bruce was once oga patapata at NTA

Actually, its very possible...NTA has been riddled with technical issues since I can remember, they are synonymous with ineptitude and incompetence when it comes to broadcasting and scheduled programs, so their excuse is very believable.
