Stop lying.

To us, anyone in South that is not Yoruba is Igbo. Period! If you dont like change your citizenship and become Yoruba.

Yoruba is the most Superior race on this earth!
Your assumption is not foolish but stupid.

The reason is simple. These are some of the reasons
1. Many Yorubas and Hausas rarely travel unlike the igbos and other persons from the south south.
2.The introduction of Nysc ought to have reduced this but you see many Yorubas and Hausas still serving in their neighbouring state although it isn't peculiar to them only.
3. The mass media isn't helping matters. NTA news concentrate more on Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa in their reportage. Not unlike the Niger Delta crisis that many us knew they had NTA Port Harcourt network centre covering that region. If you watch A.m express, you would see Wazobia display more in their reportage thank for station like channels that had reduced this madness a bit
4. The way South South and South East stereotype anyone from the North as Hausa is same way the Yorubas and Hausas do.

Suggestions:
1. The aim of nysc has been defeated has more persons want to serve in Lagos, Abuja and probably Port Harcourt. Nysc should be strict on their posting. They should post more persons from the south to the north ( safe states) while similar thing should befall those in the North. We should see many Northerners in South not just few persons. No Indigene should serve in its state or bordering state within the same region.
2. The media should display other cultural heritage from other parts of the country not just Wazobia same goes for the movie industry.
3. This forum should be at the forefront promoting diversity not just Wazobia as been display on many thread. Many of the writes tend to bring in their cultural background into play instead of taking cognizance of others.
4. The print media like punch show make more research about other tribes as they are not doing enough
With all I post these may reduce the stereotype thinking of many Nigerians from different parts.

they do it 4 me too, n remember one esan girl, osakwe, who got tired of telling correcting them that she's not igbo

the more funny thing is the basis some of them use to classify south south as igbo, u'll hear things like 'all your men tie wrapper, all of you eat yellow garri, all of you do this n that' very funny reasons

but actually if u look at it, SE n SS look relatively close to outsiders, so i kind off understand their confusion

On the bolded very true, I use to think like that until I got a bit deeper into the many different tribes of Nigeria. The same thing with the North, I use to think it is solely inhabited by Hausas; turns out, that is not the case. Nigeria seems to be a fascinating place with all the many different tribes.
Nigerians ought to have pride of coming from a country of so many different tribes and peoples making the country a truly fascinating place.
