INEC should leave up to expectations - Sir Tope Tokoya

The Accord Party governorship candidate in Ogun state in the coming 2019 general elections, Sir Tope Tokoya has charged the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to leave up to expectations in the coming elections so as to allow the true democracy reign.

Sir Tope Tokoya gave this advise in Ijebu Ode after receiving a meritorious award as the Ijebu Man of the Year 2018 been organized by National Globe Magazine last Sunday.

He said, though there had been complains from opposition parties at the just concluded elections in Osun and Ekiti, ìn which they have the rights to complain, nevertheless, INEC should make sure they be an unbiase empire in order for them to earn respect from people.

In his worse, STT said "Opposition parties have there right to complain and I want to please advise INEC to leave up to expectation, they should conduct elections according to the rules, and they should be an unbiase empire so as to give electorates, most especially the opposition the confidence the way they will conduct elections, and I'm sure that if they really follows the rule of law, people will respect them and there will be no complain. INEC should conduct elections that will be free, fair and credible.

The governorship candidate also throw his advice to the politicians, saying they should be honest and they should always promise what they can give to people after been elected to posts.

"I want to advise that Politicians should be very honest, they should not promise what they will not do for the people, they should always make sure that what they can do, and what they will do is what they are promising, and of course when they get there, they should have the fear of God and they should have programmes that will take care of the welfare of our people. Also they should have respect for the rule of law."
