I type my Nairaland diary using my phone's virtual keyboard. I posted ninety eight percent of my near three thousand comments here using it. The only benefit a physical keyboard will afford you is speed of input. It doesn't make any difference to the idea typed.

A fun fact: Stephen Hawking could type at three words per minute, that is as slow as someone you show a keyboard this instant for the first time in his life and tell him to type a short paragraph. Imagine the long wait it'll take. Regardless of the situation he [Stephen Hawking] still penned twenty plus world class books on science.

Your virtual keyboard does not define you as a writer.
