He can't even go close to the patients.
You can fake a visit but can never fake compassion.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday in Maiduguri, Borno state used the opportunity of the COAS Annual Conference to address Nigerian soldiers at the battlefields to further boost their morale.

PoliticsNGR gathered that he later visited the hospital where injured soldiers are being treated.

He commended them for their bravery while commiserating with the families of the fallen heroes. Photos below;

I wish the wounded soldiers speedy recovery.
I hope this is how these soldiers are dressed in the hospital daily, and not just for presidential visit. The deserve best treatment!

You can see what political crticism can do. Mr. President was supposed to be on leave and will have gone if not for the barrage of interests in this unfortunate matter by opposing political blocks.

Now does he look more Presidential or not? Does he look more emphatic or not. Will the troops have their morale lifted or not for the betterment of the security situation of the nation. Is this not the product of a functional, workingdemocracy ornot.

So when ignorants use blanket statements like, 'stop politicising the confflict' when they really mean, 'donot criticise the poor leadership qualities if our principal', they should realise that we all lose if such persists and leadership itself is undermined.

So we can see in a snapshot first the importance of political dynamism where power is checked by equilibrium. We can see theimportance of having issue based campaigns that address the real issues affecting Nigerians. So we can see why it is important not to shut up and shut down civil dissent. Now we can see why a desire for a one party autocracy is a death bed idea.

This is how nations develop. Incumbents take the challenge of civil critism to up their game and improve governance. Hurricane Katrinabrought out the worst of George Bush II and he got a lot of stick for it, from even his own party men. He did not hide behind the veil of national disaster and threaten his critics as politicising the event and undermining a national institution in FEMA the way folks say the military is being undermined. (AS THERE IS JUST NO WAY TO DISCOURAGE A TRUE PROFESSIONAL BY CRITICISM OR UNDERMINE AN INSTITUTION BY FACTS).

By the time Hurricane Rita came a while later President Bush was more prepared, the response was better, more lives were saved and the nation was better for it. If it will take public to point out things so be it. No one likes being criticised. This is understandable. But when you put yourself forward as a democratic leader you automatically sign up to an improvement program that will either build your competence or break your soul. Mr President and his men had better decide which....

Losing an hundred plus in one day and nobody takes responsibility is disheartening, not a single army command was sanctioned and it took Mr president weeks to talk about it, in a human world even the president will not be spared.
