The Nigerian army has issued a press statement after soldiers stormed and shutdown a security training camp in Nonwa of Tai Local Government Area of Rivers state. The the training centre was for newly employed members of the Rivers State Neighbourhood Corp, according to the Rivers state government.

DISCOVERY OF AN ILLEGAL MILITIA TRAINING CAMP

Troops of 6 Division Nigerian Army (NA) today the 29th November 2018 while on a routine surveillance at Nonwa Gbam, (NYSC Orientation Camp) in Tai Local Government Area (LGA) of Rivers State, discovered an illegal militia training camp. The troops met over 100 recruits undergoing military type of training.

Preliminary investigations into the discovery has commenced in conjunction with sister security agencies in the state to fish out the sponsors of the militia and the training camp.

Recall that similar illegal militia training camps were discovered and disbanded in Benue and Taraba States earlier in the year and measures were promptly taken to forestall breach of security and safety of citizens.

The military is not an arm of government it is an institution therefore, not a law unto itself, these acts of brigandage must STOP.

Your mission statement says Intelligence platform, that means dealing in secrecy and undercover agency. This furthered in thought by use of the word Snergy between agencies and communities and that means a mob.


Promote the betterment of the grandmother's and girl child in your communities because boys training comes from their home environment. Boys grow aggression and violent in stressed environments. Fathers need support in the communities to meet their obligations as teachers of their sons. Becoming militant isn't the answer to the total issues your state faces.

So tell me what happens when you train this powerful force to meet out crime and violence, that it doesn't turn on you? What if a bad governor comes to power after your good governor leaves office in good graces after creating this militant mob?
