[quote author=autojosh post=73433853]They were legendary Nigerian political leaders.

Nnamdi Azikiwe and Obafemi Awolowo both significantly contributed in charting the course of our collective national destiny. Essentially, they were nationalists and statesmen who played vital roles in Nigeria’s independence movement.

Individually, they were fondly referred to as “Zik” and “Awo” respectively.

These iconic characters also had one thing in common: they loved flamboyant automobiles.

During the peak of their political adventures, they traveled the length and breath of the country, attending political rallies and meetings. These top-of-the-range cars helped them in their journeys. These exceptional cars also contributed to their larger than life images.

See photos of the cars they owned at the peak of their national political journeys in the 50s and 70s.

They bought those cars with their money and maintenance was from their pocket.
Today all the elected and appointed politicians, executives of MDA’s and their wives, kids and concubines drive or are driven by expensive automobiles bought from our national cake and maintained by our national slice.

Obafemi the traitor a modest, his single act of betrayal lead to death of millions of children, women and men, well as Karma have it the northern slave as he is, sams northerner bleeped him up and he died of poison. Took his own life, one word KARMA. He was not great. He was selfish, Judas, wicked and naive. Nigeria would have separated and every country developing, no one would be facing this hardship.

Obafemi never took his life. I do not know how people manufacture reports without evidence. If God wanted Nigeria to separate, it will have happened a long time ago. Biafra will be existing today, Nigeria would have lost the war despite support from Britain and many countries, Vietnam is still communist today despite America intervention.

Stop calling GOD, He is tired of you guys calling his Name, HE GAVE US 90% of the world natural resources, leave God let him face other nations, useless Obafemi and Zik, who couldn’t prepare a solid foundation. I spit on them. They don’t deserve honor in sane societies... rubbish. Selfish and self centered egolistic men. Who amassed wealth to themselves with the likes of Anthony Enaorho etc

No evidences, just reports written by conspirators or made up stories. War is always brutal where human rights are always violated and civilian get killed. No one know what happened, some say Hitler never died, some say he is poisoned himself, some say this, some say that. No one knew what happened, same with Abacha, some say he died with 2 Indian prostitute as if they were there where he died.

Those cars would cost a fortune in developed countries such as the USA and UK. I mean hundreds of thousands of dollars and pounds. They are priceless. Those are the real classic cars.

Was he on house arrest or in prison where he could not escape before he died? Is it not the same Nigeria where you can manufacture Passport if you want as long as you have cash, where you can disappear if you want to. Soyinka secretly left when Abacha was in power. Our border that is so porous that Boko Haram get in and out easily

Nnamdi Azikiwe does not belong in the same category with Awolowo.

The person that share category with Nnamdi Azikiwe is Tafawa Balewa.

@ pazienza, ngozi123, amarabae, Bigfrancis21, afam4eva...
Can any of you guys expalin why Nnamdi Azikiwe left the likes of Tafawa Balewa with who he shared National duties to be so closely affiliated with regional fathers and tribalist like Awolowo and Ahmadu Bello.

Each time, i review Nigeria history, i am left thinking Nnamdi Azikiwe was a novice who did not understand the mechanism of governance.

This is evident with his memory(Nnamdi) being closely associated with the regional fathers, as opposed to National Heads of State like Tafawa Balewa.

The person that they should add to Ahmadu Bello and Awolowo is Ojukwu.

The three of them are sectionalist heads of regions.

Nnamdi Azikiwe was the First President of the whole Nigeria.

There's no element of modesty in the two guys and their cars as at the time they owned these cars.

Dino Malaye is a reflection of what our past leaders have been. No difference.

You will be amazed to see the modest car the last Governor General used before handing over to these rascals who we call statemen in the 60s.

In his book; "From third world to first", Lee Kuan Yew captured in details and made mockery the corrupt and ostentatious lifestyle of Nigerian leaders when he visited in the 60s.

Most of our corrupt and ostentatious leaders today will be described in 40 years from now as modest.

Nigerians forget easily.
God bless you bro, I always tell people that we've never had a visionary leader's/leader.

where can I get the book?

where can I get the book?

You can get "FROM THIRD WORLD TO FIRST" in Airports, big bookstores, online and even shops in the market.

It's an eye opener. A simple guard on how Lee Kuan Yew supervised the massive development of Singapore.

He talk about almost all the countries his government came in contact with. What they learned and those they refused to learn from.

He said he never bothered to return to Africa to learn anything from them as their leaders were all visionless, corrupt and insincere.

He said his greatest shock was how our leaders landed with latest presidential jets and Cadillacs (just like the ones Zik and Awo owned) to UN and other international engagements to beg for money. While he would land in a commercial flight.

He wondered why a beggar would come to beg for financial assistance in an expensive jet while the person or group assisting would use commercial flights?

He said in UN or commonwealth meetings, African leaders are usually allowed to mount the podium and blab for the sake of making them feel important. But that in real sense, nobody ever takes them serious.

Remember, Lee Kuan Yew was describing our so-called leaders in the 60s. The same rascals we call prudent statemen today.

I will screenshot some pages and post here tomorrow.

" I went to bed that night convinced that these people were a different people, playing to a different rule" - Lee Kuan Yew.

Lee at a commonwealth meeting in Lagos in the early 60s.

My question is who were the diligent and prudent leaders that Nigerians always talk about? The same leaders full of oratory prowess and at the same time playing to different rules.

Jokers.
