The country is thrown into grief as the identity of one of the victims of the ghastly motor accident which occurred on Thursday last week along Akwanga - Nasarawa Eggon - Lafia road in Nasarawa state has been revealed as that of a promising "Peace Corps of Nigeria" officer; Patriot (Mrs) Mercy Boja of the Kaduna state command.
Accidents along Abuja - Makurdi road that link the Federal Capital (Abuja) to Eastern Nigeria has increased in recent years due to outdated road network and decay.
The road is one of the most important roads serving the country and should be dualized and upgraded to accommodate the increasing number of cars on our roads to avoid lost of precious lives and properties.
The Deputy Commandant - Special Duties (DCS) of the Kaduna state command (Peace Corps of Nigeria); Patriot Danladi Haruna, reacting to the sad news, described the late Patriot Mercy Boja as a very intelligent, vibrant and promising officer the delay of the presidential assent to the bill seeking to establish the organization has rubbed the country of a fine peace officer.
The Kaduna state Commandant of PCN; Patriot Sunday Bayei, received the news with grief and prayed that God should strengthen her husband, Mr. Emmanuel Boja with wisdom and resources to carter for the young sons (Master Terkaa Moses Boja, the eldest and Master Myomuter David Boja, the youngest) left behind by the gallant officer.
Officers of the organization at the Kaduna state command join the Boja family, her friends, relations and the entire country to mourn her.
Drivers on the other hand are advised to drive with caution as roads are usually very busy at this period of the year to minimize unfortunate avoidable happenings.
