Fraudulent element always changing the goal post

We can all see what Buhari has been doing. We can all see the rail tracks from Lagos to Ibadan. How does changing goal post relate to this now? Did he say that he is changing the location of the rail track to Enugu - Owerri? Use your brain.

AutoReportNG:
Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, the minister of transportation, has directed the Chinese Civil Engineering Company (CCECC), the contractors handling the Lagos-Ibadan railway, to ensure that the train becomes operational before February 2019.

Amaechi said this on Tuesday during the monthly inspection of the Lagos-Ibadan rail project in Papalanto, Ogun state.

He said the contractors must ensure that the tracks and bridges were completed and the train must make transport sense.

“There must be train on the tracks before February. It doesn’t matter when, but there must be a train on the track that makes transport sense,” the minister said.

“What I mean by transport sense is that it must be able to carry passengers from Abeokuta if not up-to Ibadan, we have agreed that everybody must work towards it.

“The next inspection is on Dec. 18 and that is two weeks from now.

“Before we used to have it once in a month but now it will be twice in a month to ensure that, that is achieved.

“So, we will be back here to ensure that what we have agreed to today will be implemented. The work is progressing rapidly, the weather is no longer an issue, the elements were an issue before but now it is no longer an issue.

“You should know that on the 18th, we would have started campaign, the president has emphasised that we must build infrastructure.”

He said out of 10 bridges, only two was uncompleted, adding that before the next inspection on December 18, one must be completed.

Amaechi said his role as director-general of President Muhammadu Buhari’s campaign won’t affect his work.

He said the president was determined to build infrastructure, stating that the monthly inspection would take place every two weeks to ensure progress on the project.

Rail Constructions should never be rushed.....just a little miscalculation due to pressure and it will become a fatal disaster in the future!

The minister is trying so hard to insert this project as part of what the president has achieved.....
As much as this is a laudable project,it must not be rushed....

Let the construction company be the ones responsible for setting a timeline for the completion of such projects....

Not everything should be used to play politics esp when it has to do with human lives!

Sad really, this project is said to be worth $1.5bn. No need to talk about the overall quality cos that's another debate in itself . In reality, this project can't be worth more than $200-300m. Drawing from my generous prior stated figure, that same amount will build 5 similar projects and quicken the pace of development across the country. It will also sooner lessen the burden on our already jampacked highways.

But then here we are, our collective intelligence has been beaten to the point where a section of Nigerians will tell me to shut up and be grateful they even did this one. Some will think I am supporting the opposition and paid to do so. Others don't simply care. The truth is the truth regardless of who is in power. We must strive to ask the right questions and hold our leaders accountable at the ballot. We must never settle for less, only a slave thinks this way.

I really want and hopes Nigeria succeeds. But with the slow pace of development in the face of an exploding young population, ignorance on the part of the general populace coupled with high levels of corruption at all levels (within and without govt) sincerely I fear the worst. We are not where we should be, we are still very far away.

Says who? Do you know how much Artisans pay to run their business with Generators...? Have you experienced 30days of constant Eletricity to see how much impact it has on a Business...? Most multinational corporations spend about %5 on Eletricity to run their businesses, Do you have any idea how much and how far that can go into the development of such Businesses?
