July 31, 2010

In protest of what it calls a religion "of the devil," a nondenominational church in Gainesville, Florida, plans to host an "International Burn a Quran Day" on the ninth anniversary of the September 11, 2001, attacks.
The Dove World Outreach Center says it is hosting the event to remember 9/11 victims and take a stand against Islam. With promotions on its website and Facebook page, it invites Christians to burn the Muslim holy book at the church from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

"We believe that Islam is of the devil, that it's causing billions of people to go to hell, it is a deceptive religion, it is a violent religion and that is proven many, many times," Pastor Terry Jones told CNN's Rick Sanchez earlier this week.
Jones wrote a book titled "Islam is of the Devil," and the church sells coffee mugs and shirts featuring the phrase.
Muslims and many other Christians -- including some evangelicals -- are fighting the initiative.
The church launched a YouTube channel to disseminate its messages.

"I mean ask yourself, have you ever really seen a really happy Muslim? As they're on the way to Mecca? As they gather together in the mosque on the floor? Does it look like a real religion of joy?" Jones asks in one of his YouTube posts.
"No, to me it looks like a religion of the devil."

The Islamic advocacy group Council on American-Islamic Relations called on Muslims and others to host "Share the Quran" dinners to educate the public during the monthlong fast of Ramadan beginning in August. In a news release, the group announced a campaign to give out 100,000 copies of the Quran to local, state and national leaders.
"American Muslims and other people of conscience should support positive educational efforts to prevent the spread of Islamophobia," said CAIR spokesman Ibrahim Hooper in the release.
The National Association of Evangelicals, the nation's largest umbrella evangelical group, issued a statement urging the church to cancel the event, warning it could cause worldwide tension between the two religions.

"The NAE calls on its members to cultivate relationships of trust and respect with our neighbors of other faiths. God created human beings in his image, and therefore all should be treated with dignity and respect," it said in the statement.
Dove's Facebook page, set up for the September event, has more than 1,600 fans.
"Eternal fire is the only destination the Quran can lead people to, so we want to put the Quran in it's [sic] place -- the fire!" the page says.
But another Facebook group with more than 3,100 fans says it stands "against the disrespect and intolerance that these people have for the Muslim people" and encourages people to report Dove's page to Facebook.
Targeting another group it calls "godless," the Dove center is also hosting a protest against Gainesville Mayor Craig Lowe, who is openly gay, on Monday at Gainesville's City Hall. The group previously fought -- unsuccessfully -- to derail Lowe's election campaign.

"We protest sexual perversion because the Bible protests it. , What is acceptable to today's leadership becomes acceptable to tomorrow's society," the church says in its blog entry about the event.
Lowe and other government figures and media outlets received e-mails from the church about the event, The Gainesville Sun reported. Lowe isn't concerned with Monday's event.
"I've got other things to do," he said, The Sun reports.

On the outreach center's front lawn, alongside a sign reading "Aug. 2 Protest, No Homo Mayor, City Hall," stands not just one, but three signs bearing the slogan "Islam is of the Devil."
One of the signs -- one reading "Islam" on one side, "Devil" on the other -- was vandalized. On its blog last week, the church said the sign will be replaced.
"This is private property and vandalism is a crime here in America," the blog says. "In Islam, many actions that we consider to be crimes are encouraged, condoned or sheltered under Islamic teaching and practice, though. Another reason to burn a Quran."

Re: Church Plans Quran-burning Event by AndreUweh(m): 1:42pm On Jul 31, 2010
Instead of Quran burning, the novels should be recycled and if possible used for other purposes like toilet rolls, books etc.
I say no to the book burning.

Burnig the bible is just as the same thing as burning any other book to a rational mind.It makes no difference, the only difference are the cost of the bible and the solvent used in burning, aswell as pollution caused by burning.

Nahunta KKK rally against illegal immigration
February 20, 2010

Just before two o’clock today, Historic City News reporters watched televised news coverage of participants and protesters organizing in the small southeastern Georgia town of Nahunta; the county seat of Brantly County.
Participants, who officials say have the proper permits for the rally, are there to express a message that is largely against illegal immigration, according to a press release distributed by the group.

The city square around the Brantley County Courthouse has been roped off for today’s event. The KKK participants have been instructed to hold their rally on the east side of the courthouse; while the opposition and spectators gather on the west side.
One news account from the scene just outside Brunswick said, “The KKK members are speaking to the crowd about immigration, gun-owner’s rights and sex offenders.”
Also seen in Nahunta are members representing the NAACP chanting “fire it up, ready to go.” Someone held a sign “racism is ridiculous.”
Although some businesses around the courthouse are closed for the day, out of fear the events could turn violent, so far, everything is peaceful.
As expected, there is quite a substantial police presence at the rally; one reporter in Nahunta has counted approximately 115 law enforcement officers from 12 separate agencies on hand to keep the peace.
In an NAACP press release, it was announced that they would be leading a multi-racial group of local community leaders and residents all concerned with the presence of the “historically racially polarizing organization.”
Klan members were seen wearing hoods, but no masks, in order to comply with Georgia law.

KU KLUX KLAN RALLY IN WASHINGTON, DC THIS SATURDAY!

Ku Klux Klan at the South African Embassy, 3051 Massachusetts Ave NW, Washington, DC, at Noon
ANNOUNCEMENT!

THE KU KLUX KLAN HAS MADE THE CALL THAT THEY WILL BE COMING TO WASHINGTON DC!
South African Embassy, 3051 Massachusetts Ave NW, Washington, DC, at Noon, 12PM

With the murder of South African Nazi Eugene Terre’Blanche it should have expected is that it’s yet another chance for neo-Nazis all over the globe to prove that “whites are waking up”.
Sure enough, here comes a Marion, Ohio-based contigent of the Ku Klux Klan to make the first move in the USA. They are claiming that they hold the African National Congress responsible for Terre’Blance’s murder, they have announced on Stormfront and on their own website.

“We shall never forget (Terre’Blanche’s) sacrifice!” they write. “Therefore we march – under the slogan ‘Stop the Boer genocide!’ – in honor and remembrance for the white leader of the AWB.”

Also this Saturday, on the west coast, we reported earlier about the NSM-National Socialist Movement-Neo-Nazis will be marching in Los Angeles.

You know, you've got the distinction in my eyes of being one of the "blindest" arguers on this forum! Between yourself and Sagamite (and his annoying cries of "slowpoke" when he starts losing an argument) I dont know who is worse when "who can argue stupidest" seems to be the only prize at stake! You have your strong suites, but arguing the law, as has happened between us in the past, is clearly not one of them! Stick to popping out financial charts. . .  and pictures of  bridges being built in Lagos state!

What has hate crime gotta do with marching and Freedom of Speech, u ask? Well, if Youre dumb enough to ask that question, I'll be real foolish to give you an answer, because in your typical attitude you'll refuse to accept, we'll go round and round and I'm just not in the mood for that right now! You were dumb enough to ask the question, try being smart for once and answer it yourself. You still think youre in Africa where you can preach hate forever, right?

paddy_lo:

Like I said, you love arguing blindly! My suspicion is you're dating some white gal, a 10th grade drop out and you try to impress her with your pseudo-intelligence by typing on your keyboard incessantly. . . have I been right so far? How can marching, preaching hate against a certain race/group be equated with "minding your business. . . . "

Dude, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO ATTACK ME PHYSICALLY FOR A HATE CRIME TO OCCUR! And, please do urself a favor and not comeback with the lame ". . . who said anything about attacking you PHYSICALLY??!?". Do a research on what constitutes a Hate Crime. . . thats your assignment for the day!

Wow! You really think ANYONE in the U.S today has the RIGHT TO PREACH HATE??! You also believe that that so-called "right" is covered by the constitution?!?! Ok, here's another assignment! This one might cancel out the previous one I gave u uptop, cause you most likely will spend the rest of the weekend in jail and might not see a Judge until Monday or Tuesday! Ok, here goes! In front of a cop, walk-up to a white person (or latin or Indian or whatever) and start berating him; make sure you lay emphasis on his race as u spew your evil! If the Cop accosts you and questions why youre insulting the man, let the cop know u aint got nothing against the man personally, but against his race in general! If the cop attempts to apprehend you, act swifter and whip out a copy of the constitution where your right to denigrate others based on their skin color is protected here in the good ol' United States! That'll show the cop! . . . . thats if he doesnt panic seeing a black man reaching into his pockets and gets u Amadou Dialloed; thereby turning you into human swiss cheese in the process!

See why I said You NEVER think deep before delving into arguments? Do you see anywhere where it says the KKK was marching because of their hatred of Blacks, Jews or Gays? See how even they skirted around the potential "Hate Crime" issue by claiming in one rally that they're marching against Illegal Immigration and in the other that they were marching against the murder of one of their members in South Africa. . . . ? We know their real intentions, why couldnt they come out and state it? Ah, those new Hate Crime Bills is killing like a Croc in the Bayou, eh Billy-Bob. . . . . ?!

I dont know what planet you live on to think its cool to preach hate. . . is this the lie you feed your people back in Africa? Dude, matter of fact, these Hate Crime laws are covered under the Ex post facto clause; promote hate at your own peril. . . .

Both religions preaches gutter gospel. Nothing new. We've seen Islamists kill Christians and rally against Christianity in their countries. So this might be seen as a reaction but I think not every action calls for reaction at certain times. The evil of capitalism extends it's evil arms to every aspect of human lives.

Church should not do that. That is wrong. Preach your own religion and leave others. if they want to join you yes. But if they say NO. let them be.

So you people agree with all this stupidity. This is calculated attempt to hurt the entire muslims nations. After all why should somebody say [i][i]islam is not religion of joy?
This is because it is not
, Religion of dance
, religion of homosexuals
, religion of money making
, religion of prostitutes
, religion of, of, of,

Burning Qurán, printing and distribution of fake Quran, creation of false verses of Quran and many more intrigues will not affect the rate at which islam is spreading world wide,

Similar instances happened in the fast centuaries, but find out the rate at which non muslims are converting to islam. I believe this will definetely lead to conversion of some people to Islam.
I pray that those that hate Islam should read right scriptures about Islam and see, Allah guide who ever HE so wish, May HE guide and direct us to the srtaight path.
Re: Church Plans Quran-burning Event by Tboy007: 1:32am On Aug 02, 2010
Hi all,

I happen to be a grad student in Gainesville (the city this church is located). Not only is the church advocating such sic statements against Islam. it is also doing same against Budhism, Hinduism, etc.(I have attached one of their banners). Funny enough, the members are not more than a few score of deluded maniacs. Strangely, all of them seem to be "white": at least that's the pigment of their skins. I believe their hearts are utterly black.

You can ask any student/faculty in the University of Florida (UF) (even the freshmen) and he/she will tell you how these folks are ignored whenever they bring their "crusade" on campus. There was a day they came on campus (they weren't up to 10) to the famous Turlington Plaza, and students were trying to shoo them off. The next day, the University/& the school's intl center released a stment against their preachings. In fact, the student-run daily newspaper (the Alligator) was so critical of them and advised students to simply ignore them. The group have really defiled the symbol of the dove with their hatred (They call themselves the Dove world or something similar & have a symbol of the a white dove as an insignia)

The group also came to one of our community masjid (mosque) with the hope of picking up a fight with us, carrying plackards etc. We didn't avail them such luxury. They left drenched to the soles of their feet in the hot Summer day. (We offered them bottled water, lol!!!)  A striking factor about these people is that most of them (at least those that came to the local masjid) were mostly haggard-looking white ladies, some even with babies strapped on their chest (they don't strap babies at the back as we do back  home). I can only come to the conclusion that the group is made of a bunch of high-school drop-outs & drug-taking white wannabes.

In Gainsville, we have an inter-faith forum usually held each weekend & we have several faiths and colors represented:. Judaism, Islam, Budhism, Hinduism,Methodist, Catholics, etc, & even atheist. Never have the "Dove world" bigots ever attended this gathering.(at least to the best of my knowledge)

The islamophobia phenomenon cannot be denied.I acknowledge the misrepresentation such unwanted elements as Terrorists, etc have rubbed on Islam. You may realize that most terrorist acts attributed to Islam/muslims have political/economic undertones (& these acts are conveniently undertake under the garb of Religion). The cases of Afghanistan, Iraq, etc are clear to see. I have also lived among the hausa in Northern Nigeria (Gombe to be specific) & I can tell u all the so-called religious unrests are finetuned by the politicians who take advantage of the socio-econmic imbalance of the region, the youthfull restiveness & the wrong interpretation of the so-called local imams(who are really more fetish than Islamic). I also acknowledge the fact that some muslims display ignorance as regards their faith.

But as humans, we have been endowed with the great power of intellect. We have resources at our disposal. Yet some of us refer to the so-called pastors/imams/news reporters to shape our views and opinions. If anyone ascribes devil to Islam. What a sane & sincere human will do is to grab a translated copy of the book of Islam (the Holy Qur'an) & attempt an un-biased assessment of its contents.

Without any doubt, Islam is the only non-christian faith which upholds the high status of Jesus (May GOD be pleased with him) & venerates him. The Holy book, in a chapter exclusively dedicated to Jesus's mother (Mary) absolves her of any improper act (she had been accused by the jews of being unchaste, etc:they even called her a prostitute).

The distinction between us and most of christianity is that we don't believe Jesus is the "son" of God. Some xtains also hold this view. We believe that GOD (the exalted in Might)is so high & mighty that we can't attribute human qualities such as fatherhood to HIM. An article of faith in Islam states clearly that a believer must believe in other prophets/messengers (Abraham, Moses,Joseph, solomon,[May GOD be pleased with them all], etc) sent by GOD to humanity and we make no distinction among them.)

We believe that such chosen men of GOD were sent to different nations/peoples at different epoch of time and that Muhammed ((May GOD be pleased with him) is the seal of these few chosen men of GOD.

We acknowledge the divine birth (without any male intervention) of Jesus & some of the miracles attributed to him. As regards those miracles, our belief is that he performed them all not of his own power but of GOD's permission.

The holy book of Islam (Qur'an) is indeed a miracle to mankind. The book has confirmed so many human scientific facts. For example, while a great human mind was being persecuted for saying that the earth was not flat(I don't need to mention his name & those that persecuted him) , the book clearly says the shape of the earth is like an ostrich's egg. (which is of course geoid in shape). The book also talks in lucid tones about the embryonic developmental stages in the womb(which has recently been confirmed by modern science).

Before the modern world ever thought of coming up with "rules of engagement" in our crisis-infested plan, the book had already made mention of that 1400years ago. Funny enough, I met a pair of "whities" on campus who wore heavily emboldened crosses on their necks( I later got to know they were catholics) who accosted me and we had a brief discussion for a couple of mins: we talked about the purpose of existence. They thought everyone from the african continent is xtian (especially when i told them I was from Nigeria: Alas, one of their "fathers" is also from Nigeria). While everyone ignored them, I spared some mins with them & we talked about Islam's position on warfare amongst other things. They were astounded to realize Islam's principle on warfare as eptomized in the Holy Qur'an: "Fight ONLY those who fight you", and also the holy Qur'an's provision of accompanying the "neutrals" to a place of security/sanctuary, etc.

There is a "basis" for every act of worship in Islam & "knowledge" is first advocated before worship . As a muslim, it is my duty to ask myself: why I should pray to GOD, why i should fast, why I should spend 2.5% on my excess income(after fulfiling all my financial responsibilities) on charity, etc.
Islam's position is to make the "TRUTH" available to all. Afterwards, it is the responsibilty of those who have heard the truth to either abide by it,ignore it or discard it: We all have choices to make, "For you is your religion & for me is mine", "Let there be no compulsion in faith" (These are few excerpts of the Holy Qur'an)

And it may also interest you that so many people (even those who don't speak the language of the Holy Qur'an: Arabic) have committed the entire contents of the book to memory. So any group of people could gather all the copies of the holy book avaialble and incinerate, the world won't lose the message of the holy book.

, Truth extinguishes falsehood,

*** I didn't include references to the specific verses/chapters in the Holy Qur'an because I don't want to bore readers. The length of my response is already large enough. But i will be most glad to provide the references if anyone requests them. Or better still, the reader could get him/herself an English copy of the Holy Qur'an.****

****Any inconsistencies I have made on this submission is from the inadequacy of my knowledge and writing skills & anything I have written that is consistent is from the mercy of GOD. May GOD make the write-up much better understood than I have presented it****

May the peace & mercies of GOD abide with you all.

, One love!!!!!!!!

The Holy book, in a chapter exclusively dedicated to Jesus's mother (Mary) absolves her of any improper act (she had been accused by the jews of being unchaste, etc:they even called her a love-peddler).
