Thought APC were already campaigning and releasing pictures about the soon to be commissioned second Niger Bridge.

By 2022, Nigerians will hear the commissioning date has been extended to 2050, just as has happened with the refineries, the rail lines, Ogoni clean up, and much more.

Nigerians must rise up and kick these con artists out of office.
ur wish.

Children of hate, in 2011, Jonathan promised to complete second Niger bridge before his tenure expired in 2015. He was in the same spot, cajoling the same set of people, in 2015 that second Niger bridge will be completed before he finished his second tenure if elected

A total amount of N33bn has so far been released for the implementation of the second Niger Bridge project.

The Managing Director, Nigerian Sovereign Investment Authority, Mr. Uche Orji, gave the figure while speaking shortly after an inspection of the project.

Orji visited the site with the Obi of Onitsha, Nnaemeka Achebe, who was accompanied by some of his chiefs.

The project, which is being handled by Julius Berger Plc, was awarded in 2014 by the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan.

The Second Niger Bridge project, which is estimated to gulp about N220bn, has been experiencing delays owing to various challenges which had affected its timely implementation.

Speaking on the development, Orji expressed optimism that the project, which is estimated to gulp about N220bn, would not experience further delay.

He said that private sector funding for the project was being planned to be raised by 2020 through bond and equity.
Orji explained that already, a Presidential Infrastructure Development Fund to be managed by the NSIA had been set up for five critical road and power projects across the country.

He said the PIDF, with a seed funding of $650m, was targeted to catalyse funding for the Second Niger Bridge, Lagos-Ibadan expressway, East-West road, Abuja to Kano road, and Mambilla Hydroelectric Power.

He said the PIDF would eliminate the risks of project funding, cost variation and completion that have plagued the development of the nation’s critical infrastructure assets.

He said, “The Second Niger Bridge project was conceived to provide an alternative crossing between Asaba and Onitsha within reasonable distance from the current

“It is expected to spur an increase in investments, agriculture and trade particularly with the Onitsha Main Market in the region, due to the improved and quicker access.

“There are three phases of the second Niger bridge. The first one is the 11.9 kilometer bridge connecting Asaba and Onitsha. The entire work is a 44km project.

“The mobilisation for the project was released in August. We are confident that the funding is more stable now and we are looking at a completion date of 2022, it’s a big project.”

Is it that the SE doesn't want development or what?
They gave their votes for PDP for 16years they had nothing to show for it even their Jonathan had commissioned 2 Niger bridge on paper, they stole money meant for this project ,they empty the national treasure yet you are clamoring for their comeback.
I really thank God that their votes didn't stop Buhari in 2015 Neither ll it stop it in 2019.
And Buhari is to be blame for this if the like of Jonathan & co are in Jail now they would have shut up.
They will vote & we LL vote; My pple in Kano , Kaduna & Katina are you ready?
Wao , these three state votes are more than the whole SE.
They are talking as if they are the only 1 with PVC.
They are lose & this time Buhari LL stop being Jubril , He LL be vampire.
It shall not be well for pple that steal Nigeria money & those clamoring for their return.Amen.

It's a pity how people post imaginary pics to deceive theirselves in the name of campaign

U will be surprised to note that after elections thus money may not even be released, if u remember sometime in 2016 Doyin Okupe raised alarm over this he said the plan on how to get this bridge completed has been stopped by this administration as their revoked d initial agreement between fg and Julius Berger which would has seen Julius Berger build this bridge manage before hand over to govt with fg having about 20% counter part funding them people raised unnecessary political sentiments but here we today at ground zero

If not that you set out every day looking for only negative news against the government, you would have read around August when Julius Berger said that the contract was now been properly awarded and that mobilisation had also been made.

You rather preferred the news you got from Okupe who is not near corridor of government and that of the contractor to make your own decisions. It's a pity, much more the fact that the same okupe who was part of the government that spent 16 years showing us drawings of the project.

For 16yrs, PDP could only commission a drawings and got massive support from the SE.

But in 4 years, Buhari have awarded the contract, access road almost ready, pillars all read going up. President Buhari deserves the unwavering support of not just the SE but all of Nigeria to complete good work he is doing. Buhari has shown maturity and commitment in ensuring that Capital Projects are developed, even he is not the one that started it.

Come 2019, it it Buhari all the way!

Another FOUR-ONE-NINE talk!
If Buhari is serious about Igbo votes, he should disband his Service Chiefs who are just Fulanis, and include Igbos and even Yorubas who voted for him. If Buhari is serious, let him spite GEJ in the region by speedly rehabilitating Enugu-Onitsha and Enugu-Port Harcourt high ways. All this na wash...political gimmick.

But you know that okupe was part of the government that initially awarded d contract, yes Julius Berger said it cos d contract was revoked when this govt took over and now near elections decided to re award it.
And honestly I don't really care about the govt in power but d govt who delivers, the issue of 16yrs is just a political language used to deceive us if not how do you justify someone who was a part of a government for 16yrs change party turn back and blame d past 16yrs as if was not part of the 16yrs problem.
Its only when we understand that politicians do not really think of the masses first that we will move forward as a country

This is why I appear very stubborn before my colleagues and friends on my reasons to have pitched tents with mr President. The man and his government has continued to show what it means to make proper use of collective resources.

Even in 16 years of PDP we did not record this volume of infrastructural repair that we are achieving before 4 years. A situation where contracts awarded to known and established names who have integrity at stake. And those contracts are cash backed.

So there is no comparison, they can spend their money grandstanding, after which some will retire to their different homes while others will retire to kuje prison for all they did to this country.

But it is a shame that GEJ start this in 2014 & all of sudden turned to Buhari's biggest achievement since 2015. Which project this Buhari don birth since im enter office?
