To be sincere, thats what being a feminist should be all about, Speaking for those who cant speak for themselves, Fighting against inhumanity against anyone, Empowering women who needs to be empowered, etc.

And not to come online fighting men who are not fighting you, And not judging other women who choose to make sacrifices for the unity and peace of their home.

Sometimes i ask myself, where are the relatives of the lady who is been maltreated by her husbands people, where are all the family members that were there during the marriage. So they only come around when the going is good. Damn women have really suffered in the hands of wicked inlaws indeed

I guess the said elder brother of the deceased has been trying to bed the woman even when her husband was still alive. Her decline to his plight resulted to this inhumane and degrading practices.

A woman identified as Mrs. Sarah Asemota is demanding justice over the inhuman and degrading treatment allegedly meted on her by her late husband's elder brother, Mr.Mukaila Asemota. She alleged that she was legally married to her late husband Mr. Isa Asemota and they lived peacefully until his demise on the 8th day of May, 2018.

According to human rights activist, Kola Edokpayi, the woman further alleged that during the burial ceremony of her late husband on the 8th day of June,2018 the said Mukaila Asemota led other members of the family to subject and humiliate her to undertake and perform various inhuman and degrading practices viz: swearing on the dead body of her deceased husband, making her to eat from a particular plate with her left hand for the period of mourning, practices that have been prohibited by the Inhuman Treatment of Widows (Prohibition) Law 2001 of Edo State.

She further said that since the death of her husband the said Mr. Mukaila Asemota allegedly seized all her husband properties and has been threatening to deal with her and her children.

A formal petition has been transmitted to the Office of the Assistant Inspector General of Police, zone 5 and the Police is investigating the matter.

My advice to wives build a healthy relationship with your husband's family expecially his immediates family. Nevertheless this is no longer practise again. The man now has children so let them be.
