Revolution Is The Solution To Nigeria's Current Mess. Nothing Else Can Work. by johndan103: 8:32pm On Dec 06
Before I begin I need to lay down some clearifications:

1. This is not a political Thread. my grievance is beyond any political party. So there is no intention to promote any.

2. I assert that there is no solution to the current mess Nigeria is in. Nigeria has become the laughing story about the globe. And it not about any specific political party or individual. That is, this issue started from the foundation of the entity called Nigeria. These same issues are not just evident in Nigeria. Same problems are common around Africa eg south Sudan, Liberia, Freetown, DRC etc. In fact it's more like the African system of government is not best for Africa.

3. I don't believe in secession or disintegration of the country or redrawing any borders.

4. I am more about allowing resources to be controlled by the owners of those resources. Wherever they are found. I am about state policing.

5. But the problem is that the Constitution as it is favors only the people who have hijacked it from the beginning. So we need to suspend the Constitution and re write another one based our collective agreement.

6. We can achieve these by the use of technology. There's something called blockchain ,put in plain terms. Blockchain cannot be modified or manipulated. So therefore it is reliable. That's why it can be used as a medium of exchange value in form of crypto currencies.

7. We can bypass the current Constitution easily. And form a government online. Which will be completely transparent. Everyone acts based on the conclusion of what was debated online.

8. The idea of one man one vote is flawed in the sense that some men are more enlightened than others. No matter what you feel, knowledge is power and an ignorant man's opinion shouldn't weigh same as someone knowledgeable about pending disaster if a decision is taken. Take for example. The architect is in the best position to decide the structural design of a building. The carpenter how ever how good he may be in carpentry will not be able to convince fellow knowledgeable people.

9. Which means tests and performance will be the yardstick for how valuable an account is. Which translates to "voting decision power".

Selective Electronic Government Initiative Will hanle this.

10. This project is open source and has no central control . So just as Bitcoin is not controlled by any specific authority but the people. Contributions will be open to everyone who is deemed fit to contribute in any way.

11. There's serious need for developer participation in the GitHub account where the app resides and the source code is publicly available.

Please ignore my typos.
I will update this thread as often as I can.
I also hope I did not break any nairaland rules.
I read them and kept them in mind while expressing myself.

Good luck my fellow Africans. I hope you wake up one day and see that you are in bondage and it is not improving. It won't improve until we reorganize things buy dumping the old Constitution and rewrite one that favors us.

Peace only come the moment you become Knowledgeable.

Revolution (of the Arab Spring stylee) can't work in Nigeria! We're just too fractured to be able to speak with one voice!

The ruling elite that are about to lose out will always fall back to pandering to the ethnic and religious cleavages to confuse and befuddle their talakawas! This has never failed them in the past!

A revolution cannot and can never work in a country like Nigeria. Do you know why? Tribalism and religious differences.

If a Northerner is in power, Northernerns will never think of a revolt cos they believe it is their turn to rule and if Southerners revolt, it would lead to a 'them vs Us crisis' which can lead to a civil war.

Take for instance when GEJ was in power, you couldn't just tell the Ijaws or people of the Niger delta about a revolution. It just wouldn't make any sense to them at that time.

At the heat of the restructuring issue earlier this year, I remember some Hausas saying that why didn't we bring up this issue of restructuring while GEJ was in power? Why is it now that they are in power? You can imagine such a mentality.

A revolution can only work in a mono ethnic nation or a nation with an absolute ethnic majority. A nation where the overwhelming majority of the people have common interests and belief system.

Nigerian masses can never unite across tribes and religions to speak with one voice. This is why restructuring or outright dissolution of the country is the only way out.

I think the Almighty purposely designed Nigeria as specimen for the world to see how Islam cannot cohabit with civilization of the South.

Take core North outta Nigeria today, you will immediately feel the wonders of life without Islamic Ideology fighting to dominate.

I know a lot of guys won't believe me but living in the HausaFulanis dominated North would convince you that Nothing can work nothing can progress with Muslims and Christians competing to survive.

The HausaFulanis view of Nigeria is that the Colonial masters dashed them Power to rule Nigeria as they seem fit. Knowing very well that crude Oil, seaports, industries, and technology are in abundant in the southern Nigeria only, they would rather die than let go of One Nigeria. To achieve this, all manner of power play that can continue to grant them this advantage must be enforced. This is our Problem.
The role of Islam is to ensure that non Core North regions and people are viewed as enemies that must be put to check.

I agree with you that the Arab spring turned out to be a nightmare to many of the territories that participated in it.

Ours will be devoid of violence. The government will be running on our mobile phones and laptops. Every decision is taken in the system publicly, monitored publicly and its executed publicly.

It cannot be hacked or mutated

The earlier Africa sees that we are not moving forward the earlier Africa will take its position in the affairs of mankind

The Almighty didn't design Nigeria in any way, manner or form.

Is it that u don't know history or u're just being smart by half or down right mischievous?

In case u don't know, it was a man called Fredrick Lugard of Britain that designed Nigeria.

Be smart. Don't be a dullard.

You are correct about Africa having so many languages and ethnic groups. Nigeria in particular is divided based on ethnic and religious lines.

But what you dont understand that we need to revolt peacefully now so we will herald a new Africa. The current system will never change cos it favours only those at the helm of affairs.

Take example of Yahya Jammeh of Gambia who didn't want to leave. We need to use technology to govern ourselves.

It doesn't matter if it has ever been used in the Western world or not. We can do it and that is the only way we will be free.

An illiterate almajiri up north will continue to vote for whoever keeps him in slavery.

This keeps him in penury but not only him, It resonates and affects others in other places who are civilized and enlightened. That's why one man one vote is flawed. Simply put not everyone is equally aware of the dangers of wrong electoral and governance decisions.

Revolution is the Solution since Buhari will not bend until every elite in the sw, se, ss and cs and the economies in those States are liquidated.

OP sir,
This term "revolution" has been so used that it is becoming a cliche. Before you talk about a revolution, have we all (or at least, a majority) come to the realization that there is a problem? If I am to judge from politics section of nairaland, that's a NO.

Assuming we have, do we know what the problem(s) is(are)?

Do we know who the enemy is?

Can we develop a cohesion of purpose to act or try to sabotage each other every chance we get?

Nigeria's problem has gone beyond a constitution change. The rottenness is so intense that this country can not come out whole...IF it remains a country that is.

I'll stop at these thoughts because of your disclaimer number 3.

Any revolution in Nigeria will make conditions 10 million times worse than it's already is ..the only revolution we need in this country right now should start from ourselves as individual , the average Nigerian is too self centred and that's where all our problems start from

Charity begins from home. Nobody is talking about how our Parents, teachers, families, friends, colleagues have abandoned their responsibilities.

Our current political leaders are products from the listed above.

People nowadays only care about themselves. I will give you examples. SW are known for Rituals , SE are known for Drugs, North Known for terrorist, SS for kidnappers. In all the region, when last have you heard a leader, pastor or politicians condemning the acts. Nobody cares.

Our educational sector worsen the situation

A whole SAN, Governor of Ondo State, asking for more Powers for INEC, may be to enable Al-Makura and Adamu of Nassarawa State play more role to rig election for him,
where Mr. President refuses to sign Electoral bill and
where other State Governments are asking that INEC be restructured into 36 States electoral autonomies.
Some State Governments don't know and don't care about their grassroots. Buhari is leading Nigeria economy into Sahel Region and some sw Governments don't care?

I wish all could see with you, Nigeria needs disintegration. I don't know why you will come to my backyard, steal my resources, give me a peanut and expect a thank you. For Godsake why can't the Niger Delta control her resources and remit an agreed percentage to the Federal Government? What has a Niger Deltan has in common with an Hausa man.
Why is the Northern controlled federal government so interested in establishing grazing reserves with public funds in the South meanwhile there vast expanses of land in the North?
Why should the Southern soldiers be sacrificed because of Boko Haram that doesn't concern them?
Why should some people feel that to rule the country is their exclusive right?
Why why why why

The revolution i speak of is not one that will take arms like the Arab uprising. But the change the changes will happen subtly and not be noticed until the entire entire constitution is disregarded and we now look up to the new government that is operating in the cloud by everyone and cannot be manipulated or modified by any single individual.

You are right about the bolded part of your comment. But what we now is the way forward. We have spent too much time analyzing but we dont put in any actions to change our current status.

Everyone want to leave the country. Even those at the helm of affairs go out of the continent to take breaks cos a large part of Nigeria in particular is no longer habitable for sane people.

We have said a lot of issue but there is no concrete step to go further from where we are. We as a people can always agree to disagree. But we need to start acting. Its up to the young people to act.

The future belongs to the youths but the youths dont realize they can build a system that will liberate them from the clutches of poverty and backwardness.

If my disclaimer number 3 is stopping you from further contribution; i feel i owe you an explanation as to why i put it up. And the two reasons are:
1. Nairaland rule number 9
2. What Africa needs is unity not disintegration. Use South Sudan as example.

But the essence of everything is to move our dear fatherland forward without the people at the helm of affairs who are afraid to see us empowered and enlightened.

Everyone want to leave Africa and the rest of the world doesn't want Africans. And the youths are praying for a miracle instead of taking their destiny into their own hands and charting a new course of action by mobilizing online and deciding their fate collectively.
