Awwwww, I love elephants ehn, they are very social...watching them go around their business is always an incredible moment. Lemme add one for OP.

There is a structured social order in an elephant’s lifestyle...the females spend their entire lives in tight family groups made up of mothers, grandmothers, aunts, sisters and daughters, the eldest female normally leads the group while the adult males prefer to live a bachelor lifestyle.

Wow..

That's true.

I can recall that scene on natgeowild where two elephants that last saw each other 30 years ago when they were still young met again.

Come see their jubiliations!

Most strong male animals prefer that bachelor lifestyle. Eg: Elephants, Lions, Eagles etc. The only time they go near the females is when they want to mate...after shagging, they find their levels. cheesy

The male species of animals that tend to stay close to their female partners are usually weak eg: Penguins, Pigeons, Dolphins etc
Do you mean to say with the parent?? because lion stay with multiple female partners and yet exceedingly strong.

Male lions never hang out with the females.
When male lions attain the lion puberty stage, there is a very wild and deadly fight between them. The one that wins all becomes the "Alpha Male" who ultimately becomes the leader of the pride. The defeated males leave the area to live a solitary life although they may be in a group of 2 or 3 but will never come back to the territory of the alpha male unless they want a rematch which is very unlikely.

Now the Alpha male is the leader of the pride and he has the rights to all the female lions. He doesn't sit near them or hangs out with them but stays in a secluded area usually surrounded by trees (shelter). He only has contact with the females when he wants to feed or mate.

Do yo know that the Alpha male lion rarely hunts for his food? The female lions that consist of his pride do the hunting and when they kill prey, they make a unique sound to tell the male that food is ready. He comes to the spot and takes the chunk of meat he needs from the kill and goes back to his domain and eats leaving the rest for the females and their cubs to share. The females do this because in most cases, if the alpha male is hungry and is not summoned for food, he will come and take one of his cubs (his own child) and eat it!

An alpha male lion who is ultimately known as the king of the jungle does mostly nothing but to eat and sleep all day but he protects his territory.

You were almost correct except that male lions that live bachelor lifestyles are the ones without their own pride, if not, male lions usually have their own prides that covers a particular territory comprising a number of females they mate with and their cubs. Lions are hardly solitary animals inclusive of their males.

It's a lie.

Lions don't practice cannibalism.

Lions only kill the cubs to force their mothers back to mating mode.

Mind you, those cubs he will try to kill are never his.

Yes they do. Although they rarely do this because of hunger but konji cos once he kills the cub, the mother of the cub becomes ready to mate again.

You are very right......New male lions see those cubs that they didn't father as rival and the more those cubs are still with their mothers, they won't mate.....so new lions will rather kill them to put the mothers into mating mood

I once watched a particular episode in Nat Geo Wild where a lion in South Africa killed his own cub. The zoologists investigated it and found out that he did it because of fear of future predominance.
