The National Institute for Pharmaceutical Research and Development NIPRD is an agency of the Federal Republic of Nigeria under Federal Ministry of Health which is mandated to undertake research and development endeavors in Nigeria's natural resources with a view to harnessing phytomedicines potentials to produce drugs, pharmaceutical raw materials (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients API and Excipients) vaccines and other biologicals and other contextual researches ancillary to promoting safe use of drugs etc.
The new Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the agency, Dr. Obi Peter Adigwe and his team are determined to improve the way and manner R&D are packaged so that all the outputs inform of products and processes can be pushed out into the society to be used to impact positively on the lives of Nigerians.
