Let's do a detailed comparison and juxtaposition of prices of commodities/goods before and after 2015 to see how life has faired in this administration. Let's state as many products as we can remember and their prices then and now. Thanks

Before 2015....... Now
1. Rice N5000 - N6000..... N15000-N16000
2. Canoe soap N50...... N180
3. Cement N1600...... N2500
4. Roofing sheet N7500...... N16000 etc

op, your analysis misses the key issue which is purchasing power & affordability...

for instance, between 1993-1998, all the items you mentioned were cheaper, does it mean things were better then? certainly not.

under the immediate past administration, prices of goods & services rose, but its impact was not felt as much because there was a greater level (relatively) of 'prosperity' compared to what is obtainable now.

there was more money in circulation, the government then sacrificed the Foreign Reserves to keep goods stable & made some sound economic & financial policy decisions that stabilised the system & gave investors confidence...

Are you saying things are better now?
In a bid to defend Buhari or any person we should not let our sentiments cloud our judgment.
The objective report here is not only that things have become more expensive, but even the purchasing power of the currency is way ridiculously low.

Do you know how broke people are?
Thank God for entrepreneurs, things would not have been funny. God bless entrepreneurs.

You don't see that suicidal rate is on the rise? Nigerians who love life, taking their own lives? Is that not indication that things have become scary?
You don't see that the church and mosque are getting over packed?
People need a refuge, a place of hope, an answer from God. These are all indices of a failed state.
Let's not mention the nsecurity that's no longer contained in the North but fast encroaching into other states.

But fear not!
It gets darkest just before the day breaks.
Our day is breaking in Nigeria!!!
Our Morning Star is come.
God has heard our cries.

If you've not been compelled to seek the face of God in this tough season, I wonder who you're still turning to.

How much was this before 1999? I could remember a 4 litres of kerosene was less than #20 then, bag of Elephant cement was less than #500 but mind u before u get #300 then the efforts u will put is equivalent to #5-1000 if not more than that

the summary of my initial write up is that you cannot determine if things are better by merely looking at price differences of goods.

for instance, pre-1999, net salary for the average middle class private worker was about N15,000 pm. prices of goods & services would conform to the available financial resources at the time, hence a bag of cement was about N350, fuel N11, bag of rice N1,200 etc... but things were tough then...

fast forward to between June 2011 to June 2014, av. middle class salary was about N145,000. fuel N89, rice N9000, cement N1,500 etc, but most people could afford these things to an extent.

today, funds are scarce & prices of goods has increased, if certain financial adjustments are made & your purchasing power increases, you would realise that with rice at N20,000 a bag, you won't really feel the drain on your pocket. it's a matter of relativity & that is what the op should focus on...

Is a lie, salaries were cut, people can still not to afford to eat 3 times in a day.
Tell me the purchasing power.
Do you know how many people that are dying of hunger everyday? Go to Nasarawa state. Have you ever heard of epidemic of hunger in Nigeria before now?

Please if you cannot be part of solution to our problem, at least don't a part of the problem, what comes around goes around.

Also add that salaries were increased in 1999 with alots of incentives but in this case, were salaries increased?

Puffed up knowledge. It makes it difficult to admit wrong or take correction. Yet without correction, how can we learn to become better?
You probably have a Masters in Economics right?
God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.

Be humble.
I rest my case sir.
