2019 Election: U.S. Senate Urges FG To Finalise Electoral Amendment Bill.

The Senate of the United States of America (USA) has identified the delay in signing the Electoral Amendment Bill as one of the major obstacles to the conduct of the 2019 general elections and has urged the Federal Government to finalise it before the elections.

It made the resolution following a motion moved by Senator Bob Menendez, a Democratic senator representing New Jersey and ranking member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

While asking the Federal Government to respect the impartiality of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the lawmakers also called on the Federal Government to take necessary steps to facilitate elections that are credible, transparent, and peaceful.

The U. S. Senate said steps would include providing adequate funding, sensitising the voters, and take necessary actions to punish electoral offenders through the establishment of the Electoral Offences Commission and Tribunal.

The senators also raised concerns over the recently concluded governorship elections in Ekiti and Osun where, it said, security agencies displayed partisanship.

“During the Ekiti and Osun gubernatorial elections in July 2018 and September 2018, respectively, there were concerning incidents in which some elements of Nigeria’s security agencies displayed partisanship and a lack of objectivity, which risks escalating tensions within the country.”

While reaffirming the support of the United States towards ensuring a peaceful, electioneering process in the country, the U.S. Senate said that collaboration between civil society organisations “was a key factor that contributed to successful elections in 2015”.

While moving the motion, Menendez said, “I am introducing this resolution to send a signal that the U.S. Senate is carefully watching the conduct of all actors leading up to the February 2019 elections.

This should be a thread on its own dont you think so?....The US should as a matter of urgency slam severe sanctions on the FG if they fail to sign the Electoral Amendment bill..The desire of buhari/APC to rig this elections in their knowing they have failed woefully must be check-mated.

So what's the point of this?
Buhari will still win the next election.
Even if Atiku wins Atiku is still a Fulani as well.

the problem isn't being Fulani but Buhari. yaradua was Fulani, abdulsali Abubakar was Fulani, Shehu shagari was also Fulani yet Nigeria was peaceful. the Buhari combo with El-rufai is a dangerous one. God will surely save us

Buhari is not fit to be a leader at any level in the society. He is an illiterate herdsman who value cows more than humans.

Fulani herdsmen are still killing, like last month they killed a man in Delta because he stopped them from sleeping with his wife. They talk only about the north to the international communities while it continues to happen in other states under reported.

We can no longer live in denial that Buhari is very complicit in terrorist related ethnic cleansings that have seen to the death of over 25 thousand Nigerian ..

Is it a lie that Buhari used and is still using Federal might to illegally provide protection for killer herdsmen from refusing to use the military to fight off killer herdsmen to brazenly using Nigerian air force jet to provide air support for killer herdsmen..

Is it a lie that instead of prosecuting these killer herdsmen Buhari instead trying to handover lands and tax payers funds worth over 80 billion Naira to them ?

Is it a lie that by releasing over 800 battle hardened commanders back to Boko haram under suspicious circumstance Buhari is today the number 1 recruiter for Boko haram today?

Is it a lie that Buhari has paid suspiciously generous ransomes to Boko haram worth over 25 million dollars which technically makes his govt the primary funders of terrorism in the West African Sub region and the world.?

We must open open our eyes and see this man Buhari for who he truly is ...As we speak thousands of Fulani fighters from Mali are being stationed in Two local govt of Sokoto state for some sinister plot and the govt has refused to address the situation or disband them but instead debunked the news report that they were terrorist .

The answers you seek!!!

I know the Zombies will act Dumb to these facts

I tell you, if we do not do something reasonable, this man would have 'technically' conquered and 'degraded' Nigeria into a calliphate...by the time we realise it
