During all the allegations against Atiku , as far as I can remember, he was the first to submit himself to the judicial process and fought all his battles in court. Thereafter Nigerians started gaining confidence in the judiciary and the rule of law which was totally lost during the military era. He was calm, articulate, patient and followed through.

It's an open secret that the Nigerian judicial system has always been weak and corrupt, a good lawyer and the right amount of money spent will get you out of almost any court case. Not to talk of the very incompetent state funded prosecution. According to the Nigerian judicial system, Atiku is probably not guilty, the same system that can't effectively convict Evans. In the world today to grow in business you must have big companies but Nigerians want to be chairman /managing director of their little shop bringing in one container a month so how are we going to have a Walmart o Shoprite or Amazon or Sony.
We all watched as spectators when Shoprite entered Nigeria.
Why can't we have our own

To compete in today's world we need to have big firms that can compete with major international players not only at home but in their own countries.
When Ghanaians lock up shops in many ways they are right what they need is One serious player like a Shoprite. Not 100 Emekas opening little sheds. Truth be told that is what we need to grow too. That model of fragmented shopkeepers will have to pass away.

We need consolidation not fragmentation that is what business really is

Dangote is a step in the rightt direction but we need similar players in Retail, Pharmaceuticals,Cosmetics,Textiles and so on.

What is so special about making alcoholic drinks? Yet there are no serious Nigerian players.

This foolish chest beating about "Ibo business" is funny.


In today's world we need corporate players in virtually all sectors not local champions.
The so called Ibo "businessmen" buy from corporate players one or two containers at a time and eat their puny chests while Wal mart buys 1000s of contaners a day! .

Because of this weakness we cannot get quality items in the Nigerian market.

A good example is motor spare parts.
Nigeria is a dumping ground for fake and second hand items and we say this is "business"?

It is the same with electronics even pants and bras.

Thoose things can be made brand new in Nigeria cheaply. Just like it is in Vietnam and Cambodia and Thailand and India and Bangladesh
