Church to feed 5,000 people in Abeokuta during Christmas

Five thousand people from all walks of life will be fed this year by Treasure House of God, Quarry Road, Abeokuta, Ogun state, in the South Western state of Nigeria.

This hint was dropped by the Media Consultant to the Set Man of the church, Comrade Adeniyi Adeloye.

Adeniyi stated that the event would take place at the church premises on December 25, 2018, and open to everybody, irrespective of religious beliefs, state of origin, sex or political persuasion.

He said the church has been running the programme for several years now and many people have partaken in it in the past.

He added that partakers have spoken glowingly about the church whose Set Man, Pastor Adeseye Senfuye believes in the postulate "live and let's live".

Adeloye disclosed that the yearly event is titled "Jesus Feast" because according to him, it is motivated by the teachings of God, adding that Jesus Christ pioneered the idea of feasting the multitudes as a Biblical account recorded.

The Media Consultant said in addition to feasting multitude, the Set Man holds on tenaciously to the belief that it is humanly logical to give a hand to the needy at all times and specially during the celebration of Jesus who paid the supreme prize for the benefit of mankind.

He added that the reasonability of this event is also essentially supported by the Holy Bible where Christians were charged to be their brothers' keeper.

The Holy Qur'an also mandated believers of the Muslims faith to give Zakat to the needy.

Adeloye said that the Set Man of Treasure House of God usually encourages and persuades members of the church to always remember to give a hand to the needy.

By this, he is convinced that looking in the direction of the needy is no longer a beautiful idea to worshipers at the church but also a compulsion in their lives.

According to him, "everyone in the Treasure House of God is treasured and so the church has always believed that no one should be left to starve, if not everyday but at least, during the Yuletide when it is believed the world will be marking the birth of Jesus Christ joyously.

Adeloye disclosed that this year, the church would be feeding Five Thousand people (5,000) as against last year's where provisions were made for Four Thousand (4,000).

He said the increase in the provisional arrangements is to cater for many more people in dire need.

He stated that the Deacon Kayode Ogunjimi led committee charged with the planning of "Jesus Feast" has already perfected arrangements to ensure it is without any hiccups.
