#1. Don’t Look Naive

One of the tips that will guide you when entering a commercial vehicle is not to look naive. As a matter of fact, sound smart even if you don’t know where you are going.

You can secretly ask somebody for direction, but don’t let it be too obvious that you are new. If you try this, you will definitely be vulnerable thieves.

Furthermore, while in the vehicle be at alert and keep reminding the driver or conductor the bus stop you want to stop.

#2. Enter With The Exact Fare

It is a known fact that most commercial vehicle drivers and conductors don’t like giving change. Therefore, to avoid arguing with drivers and unnecessary delay, try as much as possible to always enter the vehicle with the exact fare.

This will save you from different dramas. There was a day I entered a vehicle from Isheri in Lagos to Iyana Ipaja, the bus conductor gave five people 500 naira as change. It was a crazy experience, I ended up leaving without my change.

So to avoid this, try to enter the vehicle with the exact fare, it helps a lot.

#3. Don’t Fight With Anybody, But Be Firm

Whenever you are in a commercial vehicle, issues may come up. Some common issues are; sitting arrangement, bus, change etc. Try as much as possible to be very firm in your responses, but don’t fight for any reason.

#4. Try Not To Sleep Inside The Vehicle

Sleeping is what you should try so hard to avoid while in a commercial vehicle. You may lost your valuables to thieves or even miss your bus stop.

#5. Don’t Intervene When A Law Enforcement Officer Arrests The Driver

It is a known fact that most commercial vehicle drivers are always reckless. Therefore, whenever a law enforcement officer arrests the driver of the vehicle you are entering, quietly come down and enter another vehicle.

Please, don’t try to intervene and be the hero, most times you may become the victim
