Guys Get In... I Need Some Opinions Here. by kissGuys: 10:14am On Dec 24, 2018
Ok... I'm in a dilemma... I need serious advice.. Currently i'm a police officer 'lower cadre'... I intend furthering my education next year... Now here is the thing..

I have a great passion for communication.. Nt like i have done it.. But that's where my heart lyes .. Being on tv or radio.. Anchoring a show or an event... Basically i intended studying mass comm.... But like i noted earlier.. I'm currently a police officer... And so

People think going for law will buttress my career as an officer.. But i really don't feel i can fit in.. Law wise.. I could be good if i try.. But with zero passion for it... And plus a lot of people said studying law in Nigeria is a waste of time, energy and resources...

So here is the thing.. Do i go for law.. Seeing i could do well in it if i focus on it... Or go for mass Comm. which wont have any extra effect on my policing career...

N/B i dont feel i would finish the years of service as an officer... I intend to explore other fields if i get the opportunity... Communication wise.. But if i don't get.. Law could do some good in my officer's career...

... As per.. "A bird at hand...... "

Guys what do i do.??

Your best bet will be to go for the degree in Mass Communications. Just like Law, there are different array of opportunities in Mass Comm. Moreover you have deep interest in the field. Try linking up with your colleagues at the Nigerian Police Broadcasting Service and see what you can gather from there.

The first poster is right. Go for a mass comm degree or public administration.
There are also certificate courses where you can learn communication skills in a few months. I went for one last year and gained a truckload of confidence from it. You can mix that with school work as it is not taxing in any way.
Having the passion for something is always the best bet, it makes the needed hard work a cakewalk.

Yes it does. At worst you can become a public or motivational speaker.
I'll post other opportunities it presents after a quick google search.
