They are called suicide doors because the conventional doors kinda shields you from potential threats as you open them, but these kind rather exposes you to potential attacks by opening the doors.

a suicide door is a car door that is hinged at the rear and opens in d opposite direction as compared to conventional car doors. but here's the catch, d name "suicide doors" is gotten from the door's propensity to fly open while d car is in motion in older models. so, when this happen, a passenger trying to prevent d door from opening cud b thrown out of their seat onto d road because of d force of d wind against d door or an unsuspecting cyclist or motorist could slam right into the doors when it flies open and cause serious harm to dem. Hence, d name "suicide doors"

suicide doors? They were hinged at the rear edge, so if the vehicle was moving and they sprang open, anyone who grabbed to stop that happening was whisked out of their seat into the roadway.Seat belts were not in use at that time. Not a very clean form of suicide
