Good day, just a quick enquiry. I have been using a conventional 20w-50 forte Visco 2000 engine oil as recommended by my mechanic which I change every two months for my Toyota camry for 3 years now as against the 5w-30 as recommended by the manufacturer but I have not been having issues till date just little fuel consumption which I believe its part of wear and tear I might be wrong. However recently have been reading a lot on naira land about car owners not following the recommendation as stated by the car manufacturers.

My question is can I still keep using the forte oil Visco 2000 20w-50 or I switch to the synthetic oil of 5w-30/40? Still want to keep the engine in shape

Kindly continue with using the oil that you've been using. You can decide to be using the synthetic oil may be when you later replace your engine to another tokunbo. Lest I forget, consider the year of your car and as well be sure you can always get the synthetic oil anytime that you need it.
