Following the payment of December stipends to the 2017 N-power volunteers, The N-power 2016 beneficiaries are panic about their stands concerning their continuity of engagement and continue payment of their stipends.

N-power programme from the onset is a two (2) year programme as every beneficiary knows, but the beneficiaries have been calling on government to make them permanent workers under the federal government payroll because after the 2 years stipulated period they will still go back to where they are before “Jobless”.

After the series of meetings between the representative of N-power 2016 volunteers and the N-power officials then Federal Government responded by informing the volunteers that they dont have the capacity to absorbed them into the Federal Government workers but they promised them an exit package which they did’nt explained how the exit package will comprised.

During the N-power facebook live chat with Mr. Afolabi in the month of October 2018, He brought the issue of 2016 N-power volunteers fate as their 2 year programme come to an end in the month of November here is the outcome of the chat concerning the 2016 volunteers fate.

We ar all inspired just looking at the past several months, many doubted that it was possible to organise half a million young people together for the collective good of our communities and our country. But you have disproved this. You took an unmanned classrooms,giving hope to many young children. Despite barriers, you persuaded our people about the benefits of immunization and help organised record at our health centers. You advised farmers on how to improve their crop yield and boost domestic production.You did this hardwork while also improving your skills and learning new things that were provisioned in your devices and during the course of your day-to-day activities.
We are grateful for your work across the lenght and breath of the 774 Local Government areas in Nigeria. We are also inspired there is indeed great hope in Nigeria’s Youths. But we also recognise that this is but a beginning and you all aspire to attain your dreams of a muchENHANCED FUTURE, Indeed your dreams for a bigger and greater contribution to ENHACED yourselves and your families lie at the heart of the next BIG PLAN for our 2016 N-power Volunteers.
2016 beneficiaries will proceed into an enhancement programme as you continue to give to give of your service and earn your monthly stipends.
The details of N-power ENHANCE will gladden your hearts as it indeed gladden Ours. muilti-sector, multi-layered and multi pronged plan will indeed answer all the questions that you have had over past few months about what the future holds. Indeed, the future is bright. the future is

After the face live chat 2016 Volunteers were happy about the  N-power ENHANCE as they will continue to be going to their place of work and continue receiving their stipend from the month of December before N-power officials roll out the Enhancement programme as Mr Afolabi said as I quote “2016 beneficiaries will proceed into an enhancement programme as you continue to give to give of your service and earn your monthly stipends” But for their big suprise their stipend were not paid for the month of December while the 2017 batch were paid before christmas.

This made the N-power 2016 started making enquiry about their status concerning the programme. Immediately N-power twitter handle responded with the following tweet

Relax, Your stipends will be paid, You are still on the programme.
