The news making the rounds some hours ago, was the interception of many trailers of Beer and alcoholic drinks by the Kano state Hisbah board.

These commodities were subsequently destroyed as reported by the news.
Of course many argued that this is sheer hypocrisy, considering that Kano state just like other states benefits from the tax paid by alcoholic beverage companies via allocations.

However, people have also argued countering with the existence of state laws prohibiting alcohol in Kano.

Away from that,
Just today, news also made the rounds that Benue State has impounded some cows that were found to have violated the open grazing law in the state.

Some people are arguing that Benue state is doing too much.

However, I dont see any point in their argument.

If Kano state can openly seize & destroy alcohol,
Nothing should stop Benue from seizing cows, killing and sharing the meat for the less privileged.
