The reason it will be insensible for Syria to deploy fighters to counter the Israeli jets is because the f16s will be back in Israeli airspace which is heavily defended by both Israeli and American air defenses before the Syrian jets reaches Lebanese airspace. From one of your earlier posts u inferred that "the end justifies the means" ,so is there any difference between what Hezbollah did in order to achieve victory over Israel in the 2006 war and the manner in which the Israeli Airforce jet fighters cunningly hid behind two passengers planes so as to strike at Syria?,in the former u were against it while justifying the latter example.
