It's going to be a busy night for me. I intend building the makeshift incubator this night to hatch my 30 fertilized eggs. Not to worry, a new thread will be dedicated to it for the the 21-23 days progress. I hope to finish this before heading back to the farm soonest by His grace.

Things needed;
1. A carton
2. 60watts bulb
3. Thermometer
4. Wire connection for the bulb
5. A bowl for holding water
6. Sawdust (the crate could be used also but I prefer the sawdust)
7.
(I still need to get a few accessories tomorrow).
8. Cutter/paper tape
9. Fertilized eggs
10. Relative constant power supply ( in my case, an inverter / generator is on standby grin )

Sorry for the late response. Yes fertilized eggs can be gotten.

If you want eggs for brooding, you will of course want that the entire clutch is fertilized. In this case, one rooster should probably serve not more than six hens.

Note
Whether there's a rooster available or not, hens will lay eggs. But, such eggs are not fertile. There has to be a male to mate the female for the eggs to be fertile.
Then again, layers don't lay because they are given layer mash. Irrespective of the feed given, hens will lay.

Serious problem walahi. Although I once saw a makeshift incubator with the person using kerosene stove as heat source. (A final year project).

There can be many reasons for eggs not hatching which includes;

1. If the egg was not fertilized by a cock.
2. Eggs may also have remained cold for too long.
3. Cracked or the poor quality shell of egg.
4. The age of the hen.

Well, except for the commercial feeds, every other thing used is 100% organic.

List of what makes up my recipe includes;

1. Garlic

2. Ginger

3. Tumeric

4. Apple Cider Vinegar (My most essential)

5. Pawpaw leaves

6. Basil leaves (scent leaves)

7. Christmas Melon (used occasionally)

8. Aloe vera

10. Neem oil (walahi, it works wonders)

11. Red oil.

I have observed from your tread when people asked you about how you prepare your oganic supplements and its application, you would just ignore them and answer those questions unrelated to this which is on unfair. I will still rephrase those the questions again
How do prepare those organic supplements
In what quantity do apply it to their drinking

Ehya, sorry you feel I ignored. Wasn't intentional. I think it would best if you helped me scale it down to which preparation of what organic medication? On its application, if you went through the thread, I clearly stated with timelines how I administered each precisely.

what is the work of neem oil in your organic recipe?

Nice one. Do you get the required result when you use chukun starter? I think chukun super starter is better. I normally use super starter up to the 4th week. Then I feed them with finisher straight. Their meat is always superb at week 7. You may give it a trial.
You mean the birds are matured to be slaughter at 7 weeks.

I use the neem to control mites/flies and sometimes as replacement for red oil in treating fowl pox. I simply rub it on infected parts and in few days, everything clears off.

What a night!!! cry

Been up by 1:37am to the noise coming from my chicken coop. On assessing the cause, it turned out to be a pouch rats attack. Tried killing it, but it got away. Lost few birds to it. (All matured birds, legs all broken cry )

I never knew pouch rats could kill full grown roosters oooo.

The rats were very big. I could have sworn it was a wild cat.

I just finished sealing up the loose ends. Sad I lost some of my best breeds I personally crossed myself.
