A lot has been written about igbos but little has been discussed about the influence of this great nation on the modern world culture. The Benin,Oyo,Kanem-Bornu,Sokoto caliphate etc had their influences restricted to Africa and parts of South America but the Igbo culture rules the world.Culture of equality. This forms the root of Igbos belief that all men are born equal and rated based on achievements and not by birth.Everyman is his own God and bears his own cross. Some may argue about the Osu caste system which although not wide-spread in Igboland is equivalent to modern day immigration laws restricting only illegal immigrants from the full rights of citizenship.Every African should be proud of how Igbo culture rules the United States.A country devoid of Kingdoms and monarchy where an orphan can end up as President.

The egalitarian nature of Ndigbo gave the imperialist headaches and nightmares.  Ndigbo resisted them until independence was achieved in Nigeria. King Jaja of Opobo, Onyeama of Enugu, Aba/Umuahia women revolution in 1929, Ekumeku wars with the British, Aro wars,Edda, Obowu, Owerri, Iva valley etc. All because Ndigbo believe in equality.

the american civil war was fought for freedom and equality of all men.all nigerians need to borrow this culture which will bring to an end less intelligent people taking unintelligent decisions to the detriment of the general society just because of there family background.
