The realities of today makes it very difficult for the pessimist to believe in the abiding possibilities of a better world and hope for the common man. Yet! These are the circumstances to which belief is relevant! I recall the story of an orphan told many years ago. Like most Nigerian stories with similar settings, he grew up under the harshest of conditions with no or little care, love and basic needs. Every morning he'd greet the new day with a smile; upon his rising he'd say words of prayers, ascribing praise and worship to his maker; afterwards, he'd follow the day's work with diligence and composure. In the heat of the afternoon, under the scourging sun he'd be by the road side, his work place. Days turned weeks; weeks turned months and there, years had already gone by. The story ends with him getting help from one of the random rich men that plied the road his work place was situated. Take an ideal look, with our contemporary Nigerian society today. An orphan at fifteen, without inheritance and no one to care and provide for him. I for one, imagine the many times he'd return home from work tired and exhausted with no one to prepare his meals, wash his clothes, tidy his room or make his bath. Often he'd had little money to plan for the day and next. Yet, the overwhelming situations didn't distort his morals nor lure him to illegal means to riches. No matter the conditions you're passing through faith is even more relevant in those circumstances.
Stay positive and keep working you could be next in line to obtain favour.
