RECURRING MASS FAILURE IN RECENT UTME
Statistics released by JAMB has shown that over 70% of candidates who wrote the UTME between 2015 and 2018 scored below 200. This worrisome trend has resulted in the rejection of majority of the candidates by tertiary institutions, especially those seeking admission to competitive courses. The after-effect is that those candidates and even their parents become progressively frustrated and dejected. Many of these school rejects often turn to criminal ventures (e.g. yahoo-yahoo, prostitution, etc.) to assuage their frustration. If care is not taken, they can become menace to society, thereby costing the society millions of scarce funds to curb criminality. This gloomy situation must be arrested and arrested fast if the future of the country is to be secured.

REASONS FOR MASS FAILURE
There are myriads of reasons responsible for the abysmal performance of candidates in recent UTME, ranging from lack of access to quality materials to poor reading attitude of students. The chief factor, however, is inadequate preparation. Most UTME candidates are out-of-school applicants who rely only on private lectures from tutorial centers to prepare for UTME. Now, with the dismal economic situation of the country, parents can hardly afford to pay for the minimum six month lecture duration required to pass the examination. Most candidates only attend classes for one month prior the date of the exam because their parents find it very tough to provide the fees required for the complete duration of training. With this situation, one can easily guess students’ results – abysmal failure!
SANWO-OLU TO THE RESCUE
MR. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Lagos State has always been sensitive to the plight of admission seekers. He has engaged stakeholders in the past on how to normalize the ugly trend and ensure admission seekers receive qualitative and adequate preparation for UTME without being encumbered by the fees involved. With the platform Sanwo-Olu now has as the standard bearer of the APC in the forthcoming gubernatorial election, he has now instituted a programme titled “SANWO-OLU TI SANWO E” meaning “SANWO-OLU HAS PAID YOUR FEES FOR YOU”.
This programme is designed for all UTME candidates in Lagos State to have access to intensive and extensive tutorials that is totally tuition free (no tutorial fees attached), irrespective of social status, religious or political affiliations of candidates and their parents. As a UTME candidate, you will receive free lectures to prepare for your examination in a conducive environment under the tutorship of qualified and experienced teachers.
SANWO-OLU TI SANWO Ẹ (SANWO-OLU HAS PAID YOUR FEES)
It is a 12 – weekend (Saturdays) free lectures for UTME candidates fully funded by the Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu Campaign Organization (BOSCO).
Three (3) UTME clinics have been set up in each of the fifty-seven (57) LGA/LCDA in Lagos to take off by 12th of January 2018. UTME candidates are to proceed to a clinic closest to their place of residence every Saturday for the 12 weeks (3 months) duration. The address of all the clinics across the state can be found upon registration using the registration link below:

The programme also includes Computer Based Training to familiarize candidates with the CBT platform that has been adopted by JAMB for the conduct of the UTME.
At the end of the programme, the candidates will be subjected to a Real-Time Computer Based Test to expose them to the real UTME environment before the examination.

WARNING! WARNING!! WARNING!!!
1. This programme is not a campaign or political tool. It was conceptualized and designed as a means of giving as many Lagos State based candidates as possible, especially the less privilege ones, the opportunity to adequately prepare for the UTME without being weigh down by the cost of attending tutorial classes. Hence, the programme does not discriminate on the basis of ethnicity, religion, political affiliation or other divides. No one must use it for any other purposes aside what it is intended for.
2. This programme is entirely free; no one must use it to extort money from anyone under any guise.
