obailala: This is how these corrupt politicians and public officials con us. They knowingly commit a crime, they turn around to manipulate us with their tribal and political sentiments. Nigerians love to blame the politicians for everything in Nigeria, but they are actually worse than the politicians, they are so mentally corrupt, they are the main defenders and supporters of corrupt politicians and public officials. We want a sane and lawful country, but we are always quick to support and defend lawlessness, crooks and corrupt people. Are the charges against him valid or not? Yes they are so he should face the music, I'm not above the law, he's not above the law, even the president himself is not above the law. 5 Likes 1 Share |

All we are seeing now are the game plan of Buhari to rig the 2019 elections. From appointing his close associate Yakubu Mahmood as INEC Chairman, who has in turn helped to sneak in Amina Zakari into sensitive electoral position to announce the fake results he will forward to INEC. Buhari already knows the Attorney General of Nigeria Abubakar Malami is his stooge. So he wants to remove the CJN Walter Onnoghen through using faceless fronts writing baseless petitions. His next target will be the legislature to make sure any opposition to the fake results he will announce next month is totally silenced. Nigerians should remain undeterred by Buhari's antics. He has failed in delivering any of his promises and will fail in his illegal attempt to remove the Chief Justice of Nigeria.

You are really shallow minded you feel every time you come on line it is to insult people to gain cheap popularity I won't dignify you by toeing your line anyways to educate you a little FG must withdraw case against CJN, Walter Onnoghen – Falana SAN By Unini Chioma - Jan 13, 20190 211 SHARES Share Tweet By Kazeem Ugbodaga Human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, SAN, has asked the Federal Government to urgently withdraw the charges against the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Justice Walter Onnoghen as such move will amount to prosecutorial misadventure. The Federal Government had earlier asked Onnoghen to vacate his office over failure to declare his assets as required by the law and moved to arraign him at the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT. But Falana, in a statement on Saturday faulted FG”s move to press charges against the CJN. According to him, “The charge against the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen ought not to have been instituted at the Code of Conduct of Tribunal in view of the case of Nganjiwa v FRN (2017) LPELR 43391 wherein the Court of Appeal held that a judicial officer who has not been investigated by the National Judicial Council and sanctioned for misconduct cannot be arraigned in any criminal court in Nigeria. “As all authorities are bound by the Court of Appeal verdict, the case should be withdrawn by the Attorney-General of the Federation without any delay because it is likely to be a prosecutorial misadventure,” he said. You are a chief justice for crying out loud. How can u say u forgot, if a case of false assest declaration is brought before you will you açcept the excuse of forgetting ? What would be your ruling? It's obvious the judiciary is very very very very very very very very very corrupt. 3 Likes 1 Share |

GavelSlam: You obviously don't under a word of what he just said....... That man is the head of the judiciary, which is a third arm of government. If the head of any arm of government is found wanting, there are disciplinary structures, embedded within such systems so as to respect the dignity of such offices. Any attempt to circumvent/bypass such system, using legal technicalities by people who are learned, ought to be looked upon with suspicion. That's why most commentators make reference to Saraki, he is the head of the legislature, the second arm of government. If you dont want him, take advantage of systems within his own arm of government and rid yourself of him, but trying to use strong arm tactics to push him out sets a bad precedence. Tomorrow what if PDP wins presidential election and the next Senate president is from APC, you have successfully set a bad example for them or any other government to follow. Of which all this is a non-issue, if truly the dignity of the office of CJN is to be respected. After reviewing such a petition, a simple letter to the CJN via the NJC demanding him to update his asset declaration details will suffice, then if he refuses to declare what he has now acquired, then and only then can you go after him, but because they want him out because he doesnt accept nonsense from the executive is what is bringing all this rubbish. If it was Mr President this was happening to, you will hear their supporters demanding that the dignity of his office should be respected but the head of the judiciary doesnt deserve same. A simple review of even President Buhari's asset declaration will butress my point. Even within the armed forces the same applies, the stress of having an auditor to come and review your assets and assist in declaration is enough to promote certain inaccuracies but using that to vilify the CJN because you want a pro-APC person there is uncivilised. |
