Gosh !

No crime has been dictated because there is no evidence of fraud or unlawful enrichment.

Did CCB gave him a form to update his assets declaration after the tenure and he refused?

Remember, he declared his assets correctly but what we are talking is an update.

What are you talking about? The CJN has acknowledged that he forgot to declare his full assets which makes it a criminal offence,

We are not talking of the allegations, we are talking of the presidency denying involvement and trying to usurp the power of the judiciary by circumventing the process Judicial Officer is prosecuted.

But frankly the petition was sent by a certain Mr Agbayan who also petitioned Buhari in 2011.
I still believe a clear conscience read no evil.

Absence of Declaration of Assets is not listed as a criminal offence but it is a statutory obligation to check against fraudulent enrichment by public officers.

In this case, he declared his assets as required by the law but failed to update it at a time required. He wasn't accused of bribery or fraudulent enrichment which are crimes.

It's basically semantics.
Failure to update, failure to disclose fully. An irregularity had been uncovered.

Forgetfulness is not an excuse

Do you know that CCB lost both Tinubu and Saraki's cases because they never called the culprits to point out the discrepancies to allow them the opportunity for correction or denial before CCB takes the next step?

I must admit, there's clearly a lacuna here if everyone had to refer to an Appeal Court case that had been appealed . This case has not even been tested at the Supreme Court.
Even the Executive, with its clearly spelled out immunity doesn't have authority to investigate itself in cases if irregularities. That's the job of the Legislature.
But in cases of the Judiciary we hear they can only be investigated by NJC. Then wherein lies the separation of power. And what mechanism or agencies does the NJC possess that can successfully conduct a thorough and legitimate investigation in cases of criminal matters.

All these arms of govt are just out to protect their own regardless of what ever

So if he possesses moral lacuna he should continue in office Moral lacuna should disqualify him, not qualify him. That's the point I am making.

Exactly the reason the writer raised the issue. Just that the timing is a bit wrong. But its better late than never because such person can not give right judgment in corruption cases. May be real reason most corruption cases by FG has been lost especially saraki's several cases. So politician can deposit dollars into his foreign account without public knowing about it.

However, he should step aside, because he longer possess the moral lacuna to preside over cases involving corruption at the Supreme court.

In a country that required urgent attention in terms of security, infrastructure and robust foreign policy, Buhari is not fit to be a district head not to talk of managing a complex nation like Nigeria.
