Indigenes of Lagos would prefer the stability we enjoy in Lagos and continue with APC vision for the state, as well DAWN vision for the region.

Those are two development anchors we really care about here.

How did u come about this conclusion? Did u interview d indigenes? Or are u d indigenes?

There are 5 legacy regions in Lagos. IBILE! Ibile also stand for native in Yoruba language.

IBILE is solidly APC. So i dont know what you are trying to argue here.

It will be cruel to say that. What i can tell you is we do not plan on changing APC in Lagos anytime soon.
APC should stop fraternising with thugs like MC Oluomo and other cultists. If APC believed they have performed despite Lagos being ranked the 3rd worst megacity in the world. Then allow free and fair elections.

Why is Jimi Agbaje campaign material posters being destroyed by area boys and the Lagos State Advertising agency?APC is still afraid of losing power. No more 10% of revenue for Alpha Beta and no more collection of Lekki Toll gate fees to LCC.

Let me be frank with you all. Please this is not meant to discourage or dissapoint you, its reality Im sharing.

If your interest is to put Gbadamosi in govt house, you will need four years of preparation to make it come true. It is impossible to make him governor and election is just about 50days away. Impossible in Lagos.

Lagos is not like other states when it comes to party politics.

Lagos civil service itself is the biggest party structure in Nigeria. Local Govts and their Councils in Lagos are better orgarnized and self dependent than most states in the federation. There are local govts in Lagos that earn more monthly income than many states in Nigeria....and they are all APC.

So think about disrupting that huge network and structure of party heirarchy and economic success for one stranger called Gbadamosi because he performed well in a debate. grin grin

Humans like to repeat rewarding experience and will fight attempts to take away his rewards. Humans hate to repeat pains.

What you see in Gbadamosi is good. It is not good enough to convince a LG Chairman to vacate office for ADP because Gbadamosi can speak and debate well.

You all can vote him but as far as victory in Lagos goes, LG and councils win elections not candidates. SanwoOlu is not candidate because he wants to be governor. He is there because Lagos APC says so. Ambode would like to run again...he is not because Lagos APC says so.

Gbadamosi, regardless of the number of votes you give him will not win because Lagos APC says so.

Lagos APC gave Buhari victory at 2014 primary in Lagos. Did you all forget? Lagos brings in the highest wealth in Nigeria, above revenue from oil.....and APC controls the state.

Even Jimi Agbaje has accepted that he cannot win against APC, he is just flowing with the script. He will never put up a disruption to APC. He knows. Owolabi Salis knows. Mr Salis is the head of Eyo Agere, he is close to the Oba palace, he knows. This is nothing but charade...a stage show so it doesnt appear Lagos is one party state.

Guys, good luck putting Gbadamosi in govt house in 2019.
Good analysis. Gbadamosi should start his next campaign from March 2019. I like the way you analyzed everything unlike one suya seller that will be coming here to shout Sai baba and thinks everyone that have contrary opinions support Atiku.

Ok, good question.

Are you aware and conversant about Lagos politics?

Lagos politics you see now is an outcome of an evolved political process that is as old as Nigeria itself.

Lagos practices Socialist Welfare system in the 50s and 60s and even uptil 90s.

The system now is socialist democracy.

You dont need to belong to party to enjoy the privileges of society.

The party is there as a negotiator and a mediator to balance the contract between citizens and government.

Sometimes you might want to replace the party but if the party supposes that your interest and your civic contracts is at risk they can act in good conscience to override your need for change and continue a good conscience mandate, as opposed to an electorate mandate.

You have a mandate as a voter, the party also has a mandate. Even government has a mandate.

Now government comproses of ruling and opposition.

The party is independent of the government. Thats why i said they are mediators and negotiators for a balanced relationship.

When government is heading in wrong direction and could create risk for citizens, they step in and intervene. If citizens are making demands that can jeopardize government they intervene and cushion government.

This does not mean there wouldnt be grievances on either side.

Lagos APC has perfected this structure of relationship and the result shows. They are trying to nationalize it. Thats why Buhari was made to committ to agreements and hand over certain privileges to party.

I never cease to wonder why Rail and water transportation has not been improved in Lagos.

These leaders seem to want to endlessly enslave us so we wont be liberated, informed and developed . Atleast, they travel to other countries!!!

These two cogent issues alongside housing will transform Lagos like magic, traffic issues, congestion issues, trailer accidents,...it will even fetch more income.

Do you know how politicians in UK win elections? They tie their background to the umbilical cord that keep the nation dominant economically. They tie their father and grandfather to the steel industry, the cotton mills, the coal industry, the shipping harbors. They turn their political ambition into a voice for mercantile UK.

Do you know how politicians in US win elections? They tie their background to the backbone of American economic dominance. They tie their father and grandfather to the farmlands of American South, the steelworkers of American North, the land prospectors of American West and the shipyards of American East. They salute the veterans and the service members and tell a good history of their mothers sacrifice while father was in Vietnam, in Germany, in Japan. They turn their political ambition into a voice through which the union, the labourers, the poor, the middlemen and the neglected can speak.

This should be one of the roles of the church in our political space. Providing a non bias platform for candidates to communicate their intentions so we can have a better clarity on who to elect. Imagine there was no platform like that, how would we have discovered Gbadamosi. This is the most unbiased debate I've seen in Nigeria with the choice of moderator, a Non Nigeria Nigerian lol... a perfect one. Others should learn from Covenant Christian Centre. I can forgive the little glitches with sound being their first edition. The questions were of good standards and fair. God bless Mr Poju [as he was called yesterday], the pastor of the church for such an idea. And the fact that it was not colourized with religion is a thumbs up. There was no way you can infer that it was a church organised program yesterday. BON and Channels have a lot to learn from this people.
Later some people will say the church is not doing anything.
I agree with you completely. This is one of the debate that was unbiased.ch

It would have long time ago.

Any politician in Lagos that talks about water transportation and development is playing on peoples ignorance to score points.

Here are the facts
1. Rail lines can be intra city, intra state or inter state. Most often because of the heavy cost its a shared facility and segments on the rail will be multi-purposed to facilitate scaling. You must acquire right of way over land. In places where land is federal, you will run onto bureacratic issues. If one administration approves and is replaced by another before you start the development they can cancel the approval.

2. All inland waterways that are used for ferry service need right of way clearance from fg. You cannot fully develop water transportation when the channel is not fully allowed to you.

Stop blaming Lagos, understand the restrictions that make rail and water transportation difficult.

I disagree a bit with your write up, leaving personality out of Governance issue in Lagos state, I think SANWOOLU cleared the debate with concrete and practical steps to solve the problems bedevilling Lagos state at the debate.

Governance is not about abstraction alone but more importantly by taking precautions to engage those stakeholders holding claim to your resources for smooth grounded action. I watch the debate thrice to see who has the leadership skills and will to actualize the mandate of Lagos state, without a doubt it is SANWOOLU, he actually have the strategic plans to resolve the pending issues left by the incumbent GOVERNMENT. He has started the consultation and have given a time frame to resolve the issues.

I understand the sentiment and emotion of who endorse him but the truth is if you are the best you are the best.

Well, the debate was quite interesting and all the debaters said what they could. I personally don't believe eloquence of speech will necessarily translate into good governance, so let us not be carried away, as a matter of fact, most of the most powerful men in the world speak less, think of vlamdir Putin and Xi Jinping. Consider Theresa May who was so vibrant in the Brexit debate, now as a Prime minister after 2 years still can't deliver on Brexit, despite the referendum slightly favouring Brexit.

If the party has what it takes in term of money to do a very unique campaign, I will not hesitate to offer my best service to them. Their campaign will strategically reach all the nooks and cranies of the state in a very unique and rear approach. If you have any link, please let me know.
Thanks!
