Fair reply, nice summary - despite overwhelming evidence the CJN is innocent until proven guilty by a competent court. |

post=74754136:Why are you disgracing yourself all over the thread with this copy and paste mundane post? I am sure you have not taken your time to read the charge against the CJN. Let me educated you a little. The CJN was never accused of stealing any public funds or taking bribes. He is being accused of not declaring his domiciliary account in 2009. It is not out of place for a lawyer with many years of private practice to have even over N500Million in his account. Are you saying if Festus Keyamo is appointed CJN today and you found N250Million in his account you will accused him of stealing money? Are you just being mischievous or you are so blinded with poverty mentality that you found it difficult to comprehend that there are honest Nigerians who are making millions from their private practice? It is wrong for the CJN not to declare all his accounts in 2009 and I am of the opinion that due process must be followed in prosecuting him and not the backdoor methods the government is presently using. 4 Likes |

JuanDeDios:The rule of law follow existing constitution or legal process. People tends to quickly forget that the judiciary is an independent arm of Government. The present judicial quideline stipulated that the erring judges should first of all be reported to NJC who will first investigate and recommend the erring judge for punishment which may include sack after being found cupable. They the FGN can then charge the judge to court for prosecution. If FGN is not satisfy with the decision of NJC, it can recommend the sack of CJN to NASS who will decide by 2/3 majority. The present guidelines is not perfect and I have reservations about it but the rule of law is supreme and we should not encourage FGN to disrespect it |

truthfulparrot:Well, I've heard this opinion repeated a lot since this issue started. But it's wrong. The issue of non-declaration of assets is not an infraction committed in the conduct of his work as a judge - that is what you refer to the NJC. It is an infraction that the constitution specifically said should be referred to the CCT. In a serious country he ought to have resigned already after ADMITTING that he did something wrong. 1 Like |

IamAtikulate:.OluwaRotimi Arogundade shared this. It is in this country that Babachir Lawal was removed for allegations of corruption and Lawan Daura sacked for "threatening" democracy. No northern Governors meeting to condemn the move neither was there any noise from northern youths to disrupt the nation's peace .Kemi Adeosun, erstwhile Minister of Finance resigned simply on a matter that was not in anyway related to missappropriation of finance or abuse of office. No SW Governors gathered anywhere to condemn that. No Yoruba youths rose in protest to cause mayhem in the country .But here is a CJN who admitted to committing serious legal infractions being asked by SS governors not to obey court summons, the same courts he presides upon and their youths threatening fire and brimstone.A crop of leadership that has thrown its morals to the dogs. Isn't that the reason the region continues to suffer from lack of development despite all efforts by successive governments to establish institutions that will bring development to the good people of the Region? It is only in the SS that you have a Ministry of the Niger Delta, a Niger Delta Development Commission and the famous 13% derivation. No other region of the federation enjoys such Federal Government attention yet, the leaders of the region have failed to direct these humongous resources to the benefits of their people. It is unheard of that a group of leaders would shamelessly and brazenly encourage a top judicial officer to disobey court summons in a case the same officer has admitted to have erred. They will not succeed in their evil plots to take Nigeria back to Egypt. Just Scribbling My Thought |

supereagle:Stop saying what you don't know Mr man, it was NJC that recommended the removal of justice Ayo Salami from office. GEJ was just implementing the recommendation. I don't know what you people gain from lying. A simple Google search would have informed you better but you will prefer to lie just because of politics. http://saharareporters.com/2011/08/20/justice-salami%E2%80%99s-suspension-njc-illegal-and-unconstitutional. https://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2011/08/18/nigeria-suspends-top-judge/ |
