Owing to the fact that he who honours his God calls for his own honour, Hon. Paul Uzochukwu Ezeobi has honoured the Lord with thanksgiving and praise, for his laudable emergence as the House of Assembly candidate of All Progressive Congress (APC) for Nnewi South 2 Constituency, in Anambra State.
The well-attended thanksgiving mass which took place at St. Michael's Catholic Church Ezinifite in Nnewi South Council Area attracted personalities, different groups and individuals who came from different parts of the state to felicitate with the victor.
In a homily, the parish priest of the church who described the victory as an evidence of God's stut to the aspirant appreciated the aspirant for understanding that it is only God who gives victory.
He eulogized Hon. Paul's bold step of coming to church to thank God for the one He has done so far and seek his support for the bigger one he is about to embark on, which they said is a proof that he would always put God first in the journey, meaning that victory is assured. He, together with the entire congratulations finally showered prayers on the aspirant, pledged their consummate support for him, even as they wished him well in his political journey.
In his own speech, Hon. Ezeobi who is also an indigene of Ezenifite Community appreciated the crowd who came to felicitate with him, and thanked them for their unreserved supports and prayers so far. He registered his candid interest to deliver and make the constituents enjoy the dividend of democracy in its fullness, given some of the great things he has done for the masses and the philanthropic gestures he has manifested over the years through an NGO known as "Friends of the Poor" of which he is the Vice President. Hon. Ezeobi who (when he had no prio interest of going into politics) has manifested high commitment to helping the poor and the less privileged, youth empowerment, human capacity building, development of children and youths via education, urged the people to give him their maximum support, and promised never to disappoint them.
Among others, groups who graced the occasion included: the Nkpọkịtị Dance Group, Obodo Ọma Dance Group, and school children who are under scholarship and subsidised school fees programme in 'Sancta Maria Primary and Secondary School Ezinifite'; all being sponsored by "Friends of the Poor"
