BUHARI GOVERNMENT is the topic of the chaper 15 of THE VICTORY DESTINY, The Rt Hon Rotimi Amaechi Story by Stan E Silva. It gives details of the so-called recession Nigeria's economy suffered a year into President Mohammadu Buhari's administration, juxtaposing the experience with the days of global economic recession and "the Great Depression."

This is an excerpt from the chapter: "...There was and there has been hardship in Nigeria before President Buhari took over the baton of leadership from Jonathan and there has been hardship before Jonathan took over from Late President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua. The hardship in Nigeria amid plenty is a paradox of prosperity and it seems inherent as the political class has made it so. Reports say that Nigeria battled with economic recession between 2015 and 2016, a year into Buhari's administration but that the recession was lifted in 2017. For me, the naked truth is that the poor populace has been battling with something worse than the "Great Depression" since I knew I exist in this part of the world. If Nigeria's economy truly suffered from recession, why did it not affect the Dangotes of this world, the Adenugas of this world and other notable magnates because that was the case in America during the global economic recession that hit the world economy in the recent past, liquidating many companies and businesses, crashing the stock market as well as devaluing the dollar much more the "Great Depression". In fact, the United States was hard-hit. But amid the much hyped recession in Nigeria, Aliko Dangote has not declined from being the richest man in Nigeria and one of the richest in Africa; the Adenugas and umpteen moguls have blossom unabated."

The nineteen-chapter book is highly informative and educative.
