I don't even understand, is it the house of rep members that will be paying this 30k salary to state civil servants A lot of states can't even pay 18k comfortably.

Is either the revenue formula is reviewed or civil servants salaries should be taking from the exclusive list to the concurrent list.

It's not compulsory for a civil servants in Lagos and the one in ekiti or osun to be earning the same salary.

Cost of living in those three states are different. And the most important thing is for this salary to be paid regularly.

Then the FG should consider restructuring so they can allow the states decide their own Minimum wage for state workers while Federal workers stick with the minimum wage of the FG. Then we can see which state has the ability to continue as a state.

For the first time they actually said something sensible. Now I'm convinced that there's a light at the end of the tunnel for every legitimate, hard working Nigerian out there.

Don’t be hoodwinked, they’re all acting

the buhari government won't restructure, even atiku won't restructure... Do you forget how the Labour union was threatening the FG if they take away civil servants salary payment away from the executive Li's?

It was a total misconduct from baba Buhari after your so called tripartite committees has given you the review of what their finding was, you went ahead with those old men called council of elders who's for the past decade never went to market to buy things neither paying house rent to jeopardize the initial proposed basic salary.

You fvck up pmb.

D issue on ground isnt abt fg bt dat of ur state govs who are complaining of incapability of paying 30k. Mind u it's minimum wage o, any state dat can pay more dan 27k shud pay it. Edo is already paying 25k wen min wage is 18k so it's depends on internal revenue n federal allocation of individual state. D states are nt blessed equally n hav nt bin rule wt equal minded govs n such there is high disparity in financial n eco standing of states. With 30k, some states like lagos, rivers, delta will pay conveniently while states like ekiti, kebbi, koggi, imo, will b struggling simply cos of their differences in internal revenues n fed allocations. For d law makers to achieve their aim, they shud equate fed allocation across states n reduce their own earnings. If nt so many state will b owing. At 18k de ar still owing n ure pushing 30k, I tink 27k is still a fair deal. With this we will kno de are truly fighting a gud course fr workers n nt a mere lip service towards wooing dem to earn their votes. It's simple logic n nt rocket science!

In Europe, one of the least minimum monthly wage is about N72,000

In Ireland, minimum monthly wage is about N600,000 (Six hundred thousand naira!!!)

The 30k is even poor, how much is a bag of rice and minus it from the 30k, then how much is remaining.

Spot on! Nigerians always put the nation's problems only on the FG but the main problems are the state governments and the legislatives ( senate, house of representatives).

This guy knows nothing about salaries in Nigeria. If only you know that political office holders earn way above minimum wage alongside some govt agencies e.g CBN, NNPC, FIRS etc. Then you will know what problems we have on our hands.
