Premier Championship side Middlesbrough has confirmed the signing of Super Eagles captain John Mikel Obi on a short term deal.

Obi has played for 11 years for the blues with over 400 appearances and winning lot of trophies including two Premier League titles and the Champions League.

In the wake of captaining the Super Eagles at the 2018 FIFA World Cup, Mikel as of late carried out his specialty in the Far East with Tianjin TEDA.

He comes back to English football with Boro having been a free agents since the finish of the Chinese Super League season in November.
Reports had connected Mikel with a large host of European clubs including AS Roma and Wolfsburg just as sides in the English best flight and the Championship, however the midfielder has picked to join The Teessiders in our offer for promotion.

Boro boss Tony Pulis was delighted to complete the signing of Mikel and he said:
