The just concluded Sun Newspaper Award of the year 2019 which was held on 25th January 2019 in Lagos state brought together dignitaries around the country.

The awards were to symbolize how important the awardees have been to the country this past year 2018. Some of the categories which the award was classified into are as follow;

The winner of the most outstanding politician award was Governor Seriake Dickson the sitting governor of bayelsa state. The award was given to him on the basis of his maturity as a governor and his unanimous achievement in terms of infrastructure development in the state including the construction of roads across rural and urban regions in the state.

Courage and Leadership Awards

The winner of the courage and leadership awards goes to Governor Hashim Shettima – Governor of borno state in the Northern Region of Nigeria. The award was on the basis of his ability to carry along the residence and indigenes of the state during the trying times of terrorist attack and other vices. The award was also given based on his ability to contain the crisis in the state.

Governor of the year awards– Sun Newspaper Award of the year – Sun Newspaper 16th Award

The winner of the governor of the year awards goes to the governor of Enugu state – Governor Ifeanyi ugwuanyi. The award was given on the basis of his Excellent skill of governance and also due to the massive development the governor has brought to the state the past year which is seen in infrastructural development, construction of roads, Provision of Clean Water supply to rural region of the state.
