nelronaldo: These are the words of the CJN himself when he gave absolute powers to the CCT when it comes to issues on false asset declaration at a ruling. He never envisaged that one day he would fall victim to his own ruling. This was spoken when he was interpreting the powers conferred on the CCT by our constitution Read and stop wailing
Buhari acted within the boundaries of the law 5 Likes 2 Shares |

Built2last:buratai is a saint with the Dubai property which was leaked out after he declared his asset but failed to include it. It took him weeks before he could admit ownership of the property. Abba kyari is a saint after receiving a huge kickback from mtn for reducing the fines Daura former diss boss is a saint after 2 billion naira was alleged to have been embezzled by him after his sack Aisha buhari is a saint after she approached the cbn and bought millions of dollars and sold it at the black market rate when dollar was scarce....there are still many saints yet to be discovered until when they leave office. Alignment... Still on the CJN matter: If you follow the story and understand the issues you will note 1. Of the the 23 members of the NJC, he appoints 20 by statute and he is chairman. Can he lose a case there? 2. Based on the legal principle of *Nemo judek in causa sua* "you cannot be a judge in a case in which you are involved. The honorable thing was for him to step aside pending determination of the case but he did not 3. The constitution never envisaged that a man of questionable character will be made chief judge so there is a burden on the president on what to do. 4. The constitution only prescribed conditions for his outright sack which has to go through Senate on the recommendations of the NJC to the president. But note the following, Onnoghen has suspended NJC sittings indefinitely and Saraki has put Senate on leave till after elections (also indefinitely since there was no specific date). Now given this unfortunate and embarrassing situation of our CJN being guilty of a crime (and not a professional misconduct) and having confessed to same (after which much more was discovered) what should the president do? It is to assist the man to do what he refused to do honorably - step aside via suspension. A suspension means he is still the substantive CJN so an acting CJN will be appointed to carry on his duties until such a time when the NJC sits to recommend him to the president for the transmission of his case to the senate. If senate says he should go (by 2/3 majority) he is then sacked otherwise he returns to his office. *Now here are the concerns* 1. Why is it a northerner that falls in the line as the next to be appointed as acting CJN or the next CJN? We may have to look at the existing hierarchy to find answers. Not only that we also need to look at the line up of potential candidates and see that they don't also have pending criminal charges 2. Why are lawyers especially SANs silent on the primary offense? My suspicion is that since the CJN does not sell pepper or fish he must have made those monies through something that corrupt lawyers buy - Justice (or injustice if you like) and some the SANs' names will appear on the statement of account 3. Why are some top politicians throwing tantrums? Why would they not think that it would be suicidal if they become elected and had to work with a corrupt judicial system. Please let us appreciate the other many upright and God fearing lawyers and judges we have in this country. I guess some of the politicians may have already made deposits or part payments for the CJN's services and their names will appear on the statement of account. It illegal to kill, even the good books say so but tell me which you would choose, that I killed an armed robber who is robbing me with a gun or I just leave him to kill me knowing that when eventually the law catches up with him he would be sentenced to death. 1 Like |

They can conven anything they want, no problem. But My question remains, what if the south West governors and other leaders had met and Issue threats over the former Finance minister adesun's saga, would this same people have supported it? The worst is that the man is not saying that he didn't commit the act, so why the noise ? 2 Likes |

Saheed9:You are now understanding that Nigeria is a shithole country where everyone is after their own pockets. No one cares about ASUU. They are all after winning the elections to loot the treasury. Pdp or Apc, it doesn't matter. They are the same. These so called leaders are pdp card carriers and are after their own pockets too. |
