He says that people also compare Buhari to other presidents.

When Buhari was contesting, he didn't say that he will be a great speech maker.

What he promised was that he will not steal, he will change our values

He talks about people that accumulate things they don't need (clothes they won't wear, land that they won't build on, etc).

He talks about trader monie, school feeding programme, n power etc.

He says that we need to reconnect with the poor (people don't know what the poor are going through).

He talks about what the poor go through

And how 2 trillion naira was used to bail out 300 rich men in Nigeria owing banks, people didn't make noise.

But now that 20 billion naira is being used to help the poor in the society, people are making noise and calling it vote buying, yet wants poverty to be tackled.

Jimi asks about restructuring.

He says that everybody knows where he stands on restructuring.

He supports state police, decentralisation of minimum wage, creation of local government, etc. He was one of the lawyers (along with Osinbajo) that argued the local government suit at the supreme court.

He says that the people that are trying to use restructuring for election purposes should be asked what their position was when Lagos created LGs.

They should be asked what their position was when Lagos wanted to break NEPA monopoly in 1999

A caller asks Fashola about the excess crude account.

He says that states sued Jonathan's government that the government should share the money.

Fashola said that what the states said was that they wanted to know what was in the federation account.

He said that Jonathan's govt said that they wanted to save for the states, but everytime the states ask for statement of account they discover that the money has reduced. And people in their states are complaining that they want roads, etc. So they said that "we can save for ourselves, give us our money" because that's what the constitution states

Quote of life by fashola

in a federal structure, their job is to extract water from rivers, it's not to supply water to your taps

Nice jabs to the lower rungs of power

The person asks if consumers are meant to pay huge amounts before they get prepaid meters.

Fashola says that the discos were meant to provide prepaid metres by contract, but they have not been able to provide the quantity required. Other companies have now been licensed to provide meters. The cost will depend the type of meter which will depend on the amount of electricity you use.

Some have gotten and ate happy and others haven't got yet

He says that the Outer Marina will be the last phase of the work (Marina to Bonny Camp).

Fashola laughs. He says it takes audacity of courage and he doesn't feel that way now

Exactly what Sowore and Gbadamosi are about, as in, not shying from the problems they want to solve. Well done Fashola for acknowledging this point. Trust me these two wont run when it heats up in the kitchen. Both are starting with their sleeves rolled up

Jimi Disu asks if some of the aspirants do not really know what it takes to be president.

Fashola says he respects everybody that has come out to run. He says that when someone says that he wants to be local government chairman, governor or president, the person is actually saying "Bring you problems", because that's what he felt as governor.

He says some are discovering how difficult it is and saying, "I don't want to run again" and that they don't even know that it's beyond the time that you can say, "I don't want to run again".

He says that you can tell how well an aspirant will perform as president by the way he handles problems in his campaign

Fashola raising a point of people having excess suits they can't put on and have excess lands they can't build on......... If they work for it, I have no issue with it. The issue should be those who are funding their excesses with the public fund.

I think Jimi Disu tried to pin Fashola down on three (points at the beginning of the show, (1) the CJN (2) Tinubu (3) Ambode, but he gave up when he realised that he couldn't pin Fashola down on anything (Fashola is a lawyer).

1/ A governorship candidate on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Lagos state, Mr. Akintoye Branco-Rhodes, has said that All Progressives Congress, APC, has put the state under bondage.

Akintoye, who expressed hope that the PDP will take over power from the APC in the state in 2015, described Governor Babatunde Fashola as over-rated, saying he hasn’t done anything unusual.

Fashola is over-rated, he has not done anything unusual to attract the accolades being showered on him by some people”, said Branco-Rhodes.

You can say whatever you want to say. However, people like us that walk the streets of Lagos knows how Legendary this guy has performed compare to others. Anyway, after 4 years of Ambode lets have this argument.

Neither!

I think people involved in politics make good actors. Acting and politics both involve fooling people. People like being fooled by actors. When you get right down to it, they probably like being fooled by politicians even more. A skillful actor will make you think, but a skillful politician will make you never have to think.

PMB is not a politician!
