Burna Boy's Birth & Parentage His real names are Damini Ogulu. He was born at Port Harcourt, Rivers State Nigeria on July 2nd, 1991. He was born into the family of Mr/Mrs Bosede Samuel Ogulu.
Burna's Early Life & Education Burna spent most of his years in the UK during summer holidays and also in france, Togo, and Cote d'Ivoire at summer immersion classes.
Before finally moving to the UK, Burna picked the Patois accent which has become his signature and makes him standout.
During his early childhood days, Burna attended Montessori International primary school, Port Harcourt from 1993 – 2002. He later moved to Corona Secondary School, Lagos 2002-2008. While at Corona, due to his love for music, Burna Boy founded and led a high school band “Def Code” and headlined a performance at the national stadium as one of the highlights of the 50th anniversary of Corona schools.
Burna Boy studied Media Technology at the University of Sussex from 2008 – 2009. From 2009 - 2010, he studied Media Communications and Culture at Oxford Brooke’s University. Following that, he did a one-year internship with Rhythm 93.7 FM Port Harcourt before signing with Aristocrat records and officially launching his professional music career.
Burna's Career He has worked with several A-list Nigerian and International artists such as 2face Idibia, Sarkodie, Phyno, Flavor, Dbanj, and Wizkid to mention a few.
Burna Boy rose to prominence in 2012 after the release of “Like To Party“, the first single off his debut album "L.I.F.E".
