The constitution says the CJN can be removed through the judiciary and the senate.

The constitution also gives the power to the president to suspend or remove those he appointed.

Since the president cannot remove the CJN, he suspended him using the loophole in this instance.

He is still acting within his legal powers given to him constitutionally. "Suspend" is mentioned in the constitution. And that the president can. If you're not happy with the CJN's suspension, start working to amend the constitution and stop whining.

Those crying, especially from the opposition, only got shocked because they could not outsmart the president. It appears the opposition has interest in the CJN in relation to the upcoming elections and electoral tribunals. And the president ensured that he tightened the loose bolts who can be compromised. Will you blame anyone for protecting his interests and acting swiftly?

And had this CJN not "forgotten" to declare his billions and 55 houses, we won't have had all this noise. Someone who forgets that he owns 55 houses and billions is that one fit to be CJN? Isn't that sign of dementia? The CJN should use his billions and heal his dementia. He needs to rest.

This act by the presidency should send clear warning to the corrupt eggs in the judiciary, be they judges or lawyers or whatever judicial position anyone holds. The acts of using the law to make turnarounds and outsmart the system and people have expired. This CJN should have simply resigned. But he was abusing laws and legal processes and due processes to circumvent the eventuality. And Buhari did him right. The same goes on where/if the legal processes are hijacked and cases linger on for many years and all the delay in giving the common man justice is impeded. Our CJN wanted to use the law against the law. To use the legal processes against the system to shield himself and buy time. And some people under cover of religion, tribal, ethnic and partisan sentiments are accusing the president, and not the CJN of abusing the law. The law is not meant to be toyed with. It is to be upheld and enforced. And if a strong hand doesn't enforce and uphold and uplift the law, the laws will only be toys and decorations. Mr President should continue his good work in building a cleansed judiciary to uphold justice. Mr President will restore the hope of the common man in the fairness, uprightness and transparency of the judiciary.

No one should complain here about constitution and law and democracy under hypocritical guise. The president has acted within legal power vested in him. We should be fair in realizing that. And we should accept that a state figure as huge as the CJN can forget how many houses and money he owns and failed to declare them. Next time, others should not forget. Very simple.

In a sane environment, this act by the president will win him trust and confidence of everyone. But in our situation, this act of strict uprightness is winning the president undeserved criticism. His enemies are using this case to milk it and politicize it and twist it in their favor against the president and the rightful action he carried out. This swift action by the president is what we should commend and hope for more in his second term.

I don't like Buhari and wish he never wins in February but Onnoghen deserves even to be shot at sef.

Why is nobody asking the right questions? What is a judge doing with such billions? That should be the first question.

How can a Chief Judge forget to declare such? And it pains me to see learned people avoiding this, and shouting tribalism

Onnoghen should just resign Abeg. This is disgraceful

He was doing same thing Osinbajo was doing when he declared millions of dollars as VP after just being a mere commissioner.

Are they not entitled to life outside the Judiciary?

The onus is on his declaration and the constitution was not followed through.

Ganduje is under imunity as a seating governor, the same fayose enjoyed during his time as governor, and ganduje have the state house of rep in his armpit which is going to be too risky, expensive, and hard to probe or impeach him, so he has extra 4 years before he answers to his crimes. So brother chill...

Did Osibanjo declare his? YES

And what life is a chief judge supposed to have outside the judiciary? Do you know what it takes to be the Chief Judge of a country?

I'm not saying Buhari didn't break any law. But let's just admit that the Chief Judge in question, is fvvking corrupt

Saraki will takeover with the support of which military? Where do you guys get some of these senseless ideas from? He would be arrested/dead in less than 30 minutes after trying that kind of nonsense. The same way you people pushed Onnoghen to disgrace is the way you want to push mesujamba to his early grave.

Saraki is a smart crook anyway, he won’t fall for this kind of nonsense.

People that are supporting buhari, have you guys ask yourselves what will happen next time any other president does the same based on allegation, nobody supports corruption but due process must be followed.
