CJN's Suspension: King Of The Ashes - Opinion by dodelight(m): 9:12pm On Jan 27, 2019 |
Just few days ago, I was enlightening a fellow Nigerian on the game plan of the APC concerning 2019 general election. I had initially warned of the master plan of the APC, the footprint of which was laid bare at the Osun rerun election, then Chief Olusegun Obasanjo released a letter which accentuated my position. But since their tactics are already exposed, they are now gunning for contingency, and the spine thereof is the judiciary. Remember prior to 2011 elections, Buhari was not committed to peaceful electoral processes; he would rather threaten the system than calm tensions, we all know of the carnage that followed in the north. Then came preparations for 2015 elections, all Buhari needed was a partner with selfish interest who would burn or tear down a whole region either with lies or violence, if it will guarantee them victory. Unfortunately for Nigeria Buhari found such partner in Bola Hammed Tinubu. Now these duo care less about our economy or whatever. They would rather have Nigeria burn to cinders if it would make them the King of the Ashes. Why is Tinubu supporting Buhari's second term bid? Because that is his best chance of 'smelling' the presidency come 2023. It's not about the Yoruba race, nor about the wellbeing of our nation. It's all about his ambition. Buhari himself has never been committed to peaceful co-existence. Imagine a president being asked about what he would do if he loses the election, and his response is, 'I cannot lose'. If we're going to move forward as a nation, we must leave sentiments and resist whatever threatens the fabrics of our unity. We must speak up against the brazen suspension of our constitution. Buhari, Tinubu, and their co-travelers do not really care about you and I, and they would burn the whole system if that would guarantee them the King of the Ashes. |
