The All Progressives Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party leaders in the senate are still laying claims to having the majority of members in the red chamber.

However an independent analysis by The PUNCH based on the gale of defections in the chamber late last year showed that the APC is still maintaining the lead with 56 senators, closely followed by the PDP with 46 members.


Others are African Democratic Congress (3), Social Democratic Party (1), All Progressives Grand Alliance (1) and the Peoples Redemption Party (1).

It was gathered that many senators who defected had not notified the leadership of the senate in writing, hence the confusion.

Abeggi! All this majority talk is unnecesary jare.... Let's stop kidding ourselves. Nigerian democracy is not ripe for such. And moreover, impeach Buhari for what exactly? For obeying a court order? Or for taking the right and neccesary action? Wo, if Buhari hadn't taken that bold step, Onnoghen would still be dancing around obtaining one injunction after d other and like that like that, all would have been forgotten in d next two weeks. If not for Buhari, d media would have been caught up in d elections whirlwind and no one will take Onnoghens matter seriously. Bukola Saraki that ILLEGALLY removed the Chief Judge of Kwara State as Governor in 2009, reconvenes Senate today to deliberate on the suspension of CJN Onnoghen? Las las he will be alright, after the liberation of Kwara.

PDP and their sympathizers know that the Senate cannot do jack.

Even if the opposition has a majority, impeachment takes nothing less than 6 months. It's not as easy as people talk about it online.

Even some APC members in the National assembly will vote for the impeachment of dumbohari.

Members like Adamu Chika from Niger state and others were APC members but challenged dumbohari's tyranny and disrespect to the legislature and judiciary.


Dumbohari is a gone forever, lifeless zombies should make peace with that.

PDP alleged Buhari is trying to bribe APC senators to abort moves to commence impeachment proceedings against him.

Besides, where in the world would it take less than three months to impeach a president? We've got less than THREE WEEKS to elections after which time the Sarakis and Dogaras of this world would be long gone!

One thing that surprise me for this APCs is the rate at which they use PDP as bench marking, i thought they brought change. Every little thing, PDP does this then is normal if we do it too.

I am still looking for answer to this question: Why is it that the accused APC members on corruption are INNOCENT until prove guilty, and their PDP counterpart are GUILTY until prove innocent. I command sense to fall on you to enable you answer the question correctly. Animal

Impeachment is a mission impossible!

Even if pdp had 2/3 majority sef, impeachmeng of the president in this current dispensation will be almost impossible.Impeachment doesn't work the way most people see it.

Step 5 of the in the 12 steps involved in impeachment requires the CJN to set up a panel to investigate the allegations against the president.

Oya which CJN will do that? Is it the newly appointed acting CJN or the suspended CJN?
