Manchester United’s perfect record under caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has brought renewed hope to the club but qualifying for the Champions League will still be ‘difficult’, goalkeeper David De Gea has said.

Sixth-placed United have won all six league games since the Norwegian replaced Jose Mourinho to close the gap on fourth-placed Chelsea from 11 points to three.

They are still 16 points behind league leaders Liverpool who have 60 points.

Naomi Osaka Rise to Number 1 on Tennis Rankings after Australian Open Win

Following her heroics at the Australian Open over the weekend, nineteen-year-old Naomi Osaka has risen to the zenith of women’s tennis.

In the latest WTA rankings released on Monday, Osaka climbed three places to number one after beating Czech opponent, and current World Number two, Petra Kvitova in Melbourne on Saturday.

The 21-year-old Japanese player has only won three career titles, but those include the last two majors, after she won the US Open in September.

Even playing badly seven-time reigning Italian champions Juventus maintained their unbeaten run in Serie A with a 2-1 win over Lazio in the Stadio Olimpico to pull 11 points clear in Serie A.

Second-placed Napoli were held to a goalless draw by AC Milan while Inter Milan lost 1-0 at Torino to slip a distant third 19 points behind the leaders.

Gareth Bale Shines as 10-man Madrid Beat Espanyol 4-2

Gareth Bale needed just two minutes to mark his return from injury with a goal as 10-man Real Madrid held on for a 4-2 victory over Espanyol on Sunday.

Bale had been out since January 3 with a calf strain but made an instant impact off the bench at the RCDE Stadium, where Karim Benzema continued his own rich vein of form by scoring twice.

Sergio Ramos was also on target with a brilliant header before Leo Baptistao kept Espanyol in sight. Bale and Benzema seemed to have wrapped things up but Raphael Varane was sent off with 18 minutes left and substitute Roberto Rosales drove in to set up a nervy finish.

Lawyers Protest at NBA Secretariat over Onnoghen’s Suspension, Tanko’s Appointment

Members of the National Interest Defenders and Lawyers in Defense of Democracy today, Monday, January 28, 2019, are protesting the suspension of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen and the “illegal” appointment of Tanko Mohammed as the acting CJN.

The protesters are camped at the entrance of the National Secretariat of the Nigerian Bar Association.

The protesters also called for the intervention of the National Judicial Council by reconvening and expelling Tanko who they urged to stop parading as the CJN.
