Activities were stalled at FCT High Court, Apo, as lawyers complied with directive of Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), to boycott the courts nationwide for two days to protest suspension of Justice Walter Onnoghen, Chief Justice of Nigeria. court A correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), who visited the Apo High Court complex on Tuesday, reports that all the courts did not proceed with cases slated for the day.

Lawyers who came to court, said they were around to get new dates.

NAN reports that the NBA, after its National Executive Committee meeting on Monday, resolved to boycott the courts nationwide for two days to protest Onnoghen’s suspension.

The NBA said the boycott was to press for the reversal of President Muhammadu Buhari’s decision to suspend Onnoghen and appoint an acting Chief Judge The NBA President, Mr Paul Usoro, said “The decision of NEC is to show displeasure of the body of lawyers with regards to what has happened so far. “It has been decided by the NBA NEC that lawyers should go on a two-day boycott of courts nationwide from Tuesday Jan. 29 and Wednesday, Jan. 30.’’(NAN)

The Nigerian Bar association has declared a -day boycott of all courtroom matters in protest against the suspension of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen.

The decision is a part of the resolution reached at the emergency national executive Committee assembly of the association in Abuja on the 28th. Of January

That's why i pity the southern christian part of this country. In their vaunted self righteousness and supposed learned ways, they'd condemn their own but did any Hausa/Fulani man condemn Ganduje for his egregious acts? No! Christians in the North are wiser because they know the hypocrisy and duplicity of the Hausa/Fulani man in issues like this (mind you i do not hate any tribe in Nigeria. Indeed, in one on one interpersonal relationships Hausa/fulani people are very nice people, far nicer than people from the south). what i am driving at is their actions in politics and in the advancement of their own ethno-religious interest.

when the Rules applicable to Abubakar is different from the one applicable to Depreye how can justice ever be done? indeed set Abubakar free and to condemn depreye when they commit the same crime is to make a travesty of justice. Imagine if in a match anytime you score even legit goals its declared an off-side but any time your opponents score even offside goals the Referee awards the goal. How can you ever win in such a match and how can your opponent ever lose in such a match?

We cannot operate a federation unless there is justice and fair-play. Let Abubakar be punished when he does wrong, let Okoro also be punished when he does wrong but we have refused to observe simple rules of fairness and justice. how then do you expect me to condemn the CJN? I will not! I will not be that stupid or naive.
