This is exactly tinubu’s style,I call it tinubu 101.

This is the rule of politics that ambode failed to realise,in politics we call this type of people “unfit”

Ambode is unfit to be a government not because he didn’t do well but he didn’t play politics like a politician.

When they were rumors that ambode has fallen out of favour from tinubu and might not get the ticket,he was expected to fight!.nobody gives you anything in politics for being gentle,he should have created a faction in apc, change the location of apc hq to his prefared location and dismantled the one in ogba under the guise of renovation.

Get some loyal people in the assembly, use your commissioners.when those siting on the fence see you are ready to fight they will join you in fighting.

See udon, see wike, see Theodore orji they were brought in by strong men.lobby directly to apc bot members and the president not through asiwaju.

Even if it becomes clear u might lose the primary ticket in apc,you decamp to pdp.. (pdp as at then was waiting for his next move)

Think about this: ambode defeated agbaje with less that 150,000 votes about 800k to 650k.

You have your supporters, the non partisan lagosians, the non Yorubas, and the Igbo who will always go the opposite direction of buhari will vote for you, then u will have a chance of wining the election and even if the apc will want to impeach you, your party will speak out for you .....

But no he didn’t do that, even those that are angry that wanted to fight for him ,he shouted then down. A commissioner couldn’t take his cowardice and resign castigating apc leadership in a letter.

Last bullet: ambode is lilylivered and should be humiliated.

God bless you for this..You are right down smart..

TLDR: If you are too young to remember when Tinubu was Governor, he built his base from way back then. Ambode bit the fingers that fed him and Tinubu will not allow Ambode to ruin his political career. The rest is shaku shaku

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't like commenting on social media or the internet because there are so many people who always give opinions about situations they clueless about as if they were professionals. And yet, you people complain about fake news. Also, the inability of many people to have intelligible conversation without resorting to insults and invectives is just off putting.

So, let me tell you internet warriors about real life politics, case in point - Tinubu. By the way, for the purpose of full disclosure - Tinubu is my role model and one day I hope to be like him when I grow up. Tinubu is what you call an enigma and an altruistic leader that is a true Patriot. If you know anything about politics in Nigeria, you will know that all elections are won and lost at ward level. The number of wards you control and deliver will determine the votes you will get come elections day.

Having said that, Tinubu knows every ward leader, ward women leader, ward youth leader and most excos by their first names. They all go to him with their problems especially their constituents needs. Have you ever wonder why they are all so loyal to him? He gives everyone a fair chance based on the potential they demonstrate at local level. I know people who have been following him since the days of Alliance for Democracy (1999) till date. Many young guys have gotten opportunities to get into political office because of him. How many old men do see in the ranks of APC in Lagos? Once you spend two or at most three terms in office, you have to leave for another person to take up that mantle. This way everyone get a chance at it.

Don't stay on the internet and think you know what the pepper seller on the street thinks of politics. Shockingly these illiterates are more active politically than most of you hiding behind your keyboards and keypads. They are the ones that will queue in sun on elections day for hours unend. They are the ones attending rallies and campaigns. They have more skin in the game than me and you, period.

Back to the matter, Tinubu successfully changed the pace for State govt funding and LASG financially in Lagos when he stood up to Obasanjo, who thought he could starve Lagos of funds just to win Lagos for PDP. Imagine Fayose was Lagos Governor then? would Lagos have survived the onslaught of the " Federal Might" that starved him of funds to run his govt? Tinubu's creativity manufactured funds to keep the state running at a time when all other states were looking to FG for majority of their funding needs. Since then, LASG IGR has been on the steady rise.

And those talking about how Tinubu is enriching himself with govt funds and getting greedier by the day, ask Banky W or any of the other internet celebrities contesting for public office after the elections how much they spent and how easy was it for them mobilize people without doling out raw cash in massive quantities. Politics in Nigeria is too expensive, Nigerians are greed and want to have as much as possible for themselves alone without being bothered about the source of the money they are grabbing, hence the rise of Yahoo plus or Money rituals. Not that I am saying it can't be better, how many politicians invest locally? Tinubu is putting whatever is left from the sharing amonst the party faithfuls back into the economy of Lagos. He invests in the biggest companies and embarks on the most ambitious projects, creating several thousands of jobs in Lagos. Ask in your state of origins what your Governor or legislator is doing with the money he is stealing from govt coffers besides stashing them abroad.

We need more politicians like Tinubu to reinvest and circulate the stolen wealth of this country. A time will come when all those assests will fall back into the hands of the govt and will become our collective benefit once again but in the mean time let it generate value for the people through investments that create jobs and money for many others who cannot join the political parties ranks.

About Ambode - my look alike, his political inexperience got the better of him. Tinubu fell out of favor with many of his supporters when he presented him as his choice. And as many of the dissents foretold, Ambode's inability to grasp the complexity of Lagos's massive political machinery became obvious as soon as he assumed office. For APC to remain intact and not loose members to other political parties, Tinubu needed to stand behind the popular demand for Ambode's removal as he was redistributing the common wealth to a few personal friends from his secondary school days in FGC Warri.

Ambode had poor PR skills on top of it all. He didn't know how to juggle the balls of rapporteur and communications with important members of his party. Party stalwarts found it very difficult to get audience with him as the usual excuse was him being busy. Meanwhile pictures of him balling at Quilox flodded the internet, if you were one of these grassroots politicians who is always beisged daily by scores of expectant supporters for the dividends of loyalty, won't you feel foolish and insulted? Please don't confuse your one vote for the hunderds a ward mobilizer can deliver by just pointing his own people in whichever direction he so wishes. These people are in all countries, even in UK and US - they are called fancier names like influencers, union leaders, etc.

In my own opinion and experience, Ambode's biggest failure was not surrounding himself with experienced political advisers. He was very new to politics and as we all do when we lack knowledge about any field, we get help from teachers or senior colleagues. Rather he went about dismantling all the good work Fashola had done. Fashola was the only person that ever had a chance at breaking Tinubu's powerbase in Lagos, everybody liked him for his progressive nature and he had also been a student of the Master all the while he was Tinubu's Chief of staff.

Ambode has committed political suicide in Lagos, except another party takes the reigns in Lagos. Tinubu however, has reinvented himself as the leader that listens to his followers and he will be stronger politically for it in the days ahead.

Enough Is Enough of the Impunity in Lagos

With news of the moves to impeach Mr Akinwunmi Ambode, Governor of Lagos State, there is no doubt that the future of our beloved Lagos State is at stake.
For the first time since 1999, Lagos is entering the second month of a new year without an approved budget. There are several completed projects awaiting commissioning, and several more ongoing ones that are being slowed down.
This petition is by concerned people of Lagos State. The cabals behind the continued harassment and embarrassment of outgoing Governor Ambode need to be opposed, and told enough is enough.
This is starting to look like a throwback to the days of President Obasanjo, when unfair and illegal impeachment actions brought Governors down, just because they were not in the good books of their godfathers.
This is not about taking sides in the politics of Lagos, or about being a fan of the APC, or about Governor Ambode. It is simply about ensuring any semblance of governance of Lagos State is preserved.
When elephants fight, it is the grass that suffers. The good people of Lagos have had enough. Enough of impunity in Lagos State.
Governor Ambode has been denied a chance of reelection, but he should be left to fulfil the promises he has made to the people of Lagos: infrastructure, healthcare, education, housing, environment and jobs.
Lagos deserves better. That’s all we are asking for, that’s why we are asking concerned and passionate Lagosians to sign this petition.

You are dealing with Blacks! Unpatriotic Nigerians. 0 signatures on the petition. They are all probably rushing to Canada.

All what you said is very correct but the personality of Bola Tinubu compared to the godfathers of other states you compared him with is different.
Bola Tinubu already fought the kind of battle you are suggesting for Ambode although in a smaller drama when dealing with Tunde Fashola and he won and produced Ambode.

Gov.A Amobode is a different political animal, knowing that he can't win that kind of battle he decided to fight in another way,the way of using the governor perogative, that way if tinubu don't take caution he will perish.

The Governor decided not to submits the 2019 budget even after almost January ending until maybe after February election s or may not submit it at all even after then so that that choice candidate sanwoola should come and do that.

The implications is that the governor is staving all APC candidates of fund to campaign, in which case amobode is trying to create a Lagos
House of Assembly membership that cone with more PDP members that will make leadership tough for the incoming govt.

He also want come number of the APC House members not to have fund to compete with their opponent, they will then suffer defeat and will not return,a kind of revenge,Ambode like biblical Samson is trying to drag the whole house down.

The House of Assembly members need the budget money to run elections, as they are not getting it they restore to impeachment threat or will want to get him actually removed.

Now it will take 3months or so to actually remove him constitutional and election is in February so the Governor is already doing them serious arm twisting.

And if they ever succeed in impeaching him Lagosian will be very angry and can vote APC out specially as Jim Agbaje is a better opponent, is a dicey situation for the Governor and his godfather.

But when some months to the 2011 election OUK and her mother were showing some sign to theordore orji ,he fought ouk in PPA,created faction ,weakened PPA,moved his loyal men to pdp,ouk succeeded in convincing his deputy Chris akomas to remain and at the end, theoredore won!.
