We ‘ll Set Up Entrepreneur Bank – Osinbajo by Sanromeo(m): 9:57am On Feb 01, 2019
Vice President Prof Yemi Osinbajo has disclosed that the Federal Government would set up an Entrepreneur Bank to enable the people access credit for small businesses.

Osinbajo who was in Ondo state on a 3-day working visit, disclosed this while speaking with newsmen in Akure after his House- to-House campaign.

He explained that the present administration was looking for ways to create more concrete opportunities for the people.

“Under next level, we mentioned three major things to include jobs for young men and women which we started with N-Power where we engaged 500,000 young people. We are moving to one million youths in the next level.

“In 2050, Nigeria will be the third most populous nation in the world because the growth of Nigeria is three percent every year, we must do something about jobs for our youths,” he said.

“The second thing is power. At Isinkan, and the two Nepa markets, we launched a public private solar scheme. Those three markets now have solar power, privately powered.

“We paid for it, but it is much more cheaper than generator, so we are looking at how to improve that and be able to do this in more economic clusters and more domestic situations,” he said.

Osinbajo explained that the third point was more Micro-Credit, hence the Tradermoni was started, where petty traders were given credit.

“We give them N10,000, when they pay back, we shall give N15,000 all the way to N100,000. We want to increase the scope.

“We want to do empowers about two million people across the country, a minimum of 30,000 per state, and we are making progress.

“We want to be able to give small and medium scale businesses real opportunity to access credit and do more,” he said.

The Vice President however, lamented that the main problem with Nigeria was corruption, which was the reason for its under-developed infrastructure.

“Corruption is our main problem. We have funds to take care of our needs, but grand corruption is on the high. We must continue to tackle it and we won’t compromise,” he assured.

Also speaking with Journalists, SouthWest Director of the Buhari/Osinbajo Campaign Organization Chief Olusola Oke (SAN) expressed optimism that the entire South West would more than ever before, vote massively on February 16 for the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari following his monumental achievements.

You engaged 500,000 young people under N- Power under 4 years and 20.9 million Nigerian lost their jobs under your administration.

So sad....
